Guest guest
|| Om Gurave Namah || Dear Learned members, I wrote a small article like notes on the last Venus eclipse on Sun. Historically there had been sometimes disasters after this. http://www.geocities.com/sanjayprabhakaran/venus_transit.pdf This article was written on Jun-2004 I was not sure about how to do the timing so I just collected 1 year data for each of Venus eclipse for past two times. I would like to see Your comments in this in the light of Tsunami. PS: Sarabaniji can put this in JD if she feels it's good. I can edit and write more details for the JD. Guruji: Can give tell me if this approach is good and give some idea about timeing. Warm Regards SanjayP Om tat sat

Guest guest
om subrahmaNyaaya namaH namaste Sanjayji, An excellent write up. The Aug 29, 1883 incident after 1882 Venus transit, which you have noted is further described as " The largest volcanic eruption ever recorded was in karakatau in Indonesia in 1883 just after the 1882 transit of Venus. The blast was heard 4635 kilometers away and the collapse of volcano caused 150 metre high waves in the nearby Sundra srait. Ash from the eruption hung in the upper atmosphere causing a global temperature drop on an average 1-2 degree Cel. " There is similarity in what happend as tsunami. And, there is another stanza in BS, 9.23 which says that if Venus appears in the sky before Sun set, there will be panic, wickedness and begging all around. Regarding the place, time etc; Dr Raman observes " The area of the occurrence is generally indicated by the zodiacal sign in which the `above combinations' occur or by the sign which has the conjunction or the eclipse of the meridian or the Nadir. The locality is also indicated in places where Saturn or Jupiter is on the meridian.' It seems that full Moon or new Moon combination is the most important. To quote Him " ….are capable of triggering earthquakes in earthquake-prone areas like Iran, Assam, China and Mexico, especially about the times of new Moon and full Moon " . Infact, this is a vague statement as places China and Mexico are far away and the timing is also not certain. Wish you and all members a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
