This is extracted from the Jyotish Digest tha will be released in April this year. I have the exact time for the formation of the government. It was planned for 4.30 PM but somehow, as luck would have it, it got delayed till 5.04 PM.

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supremo Shibu Soren (age 61 years) had hoped to become Chief Minister without contesting the 2005 state elections but found himself in a quandry following the poll debacle of his two sons. This personal setback was caused by his elder son Durga being defeated by BJP’s Sunil Soren and his second son Hemant losing to Stephen Marandi, JMM’s Rajya Sabha MP who contested as an independent after Soren denied him a ticket to nominate his own son. The Marandi-Hemant battle for Dumka was keenly watched. Had Hemant won, the Sorens would have snuffed out any challenge at home. With the opposite happening, the Dumka verdict will lead to fresh rumblings within the JMM.

Politics truly makes strange bed fellows, and the ambition of Shibu Soren took a new shape when he outsmarted the NDA (BJP led group) and on March 2 became the new chief minister of Jharkhand, amid widespread doubts about whether his coalition government enjoyed majority support in the fractured house. Soren who was sworn in by Governor Syed Sibtey Razi along with six ministers at a crowded ceremony here, vowed to prove his majority by the designated March 21 deadline. Let us examine the swearing in chart.

In any muhurta chart, there should not be any planets in the 8th house. If there is a planet then it shall be the cause of destruction of the work. In this chart we have Mercury in the 8th house in debility indicating a very short life for the Soren government and considerable troubles from the bad publicity and the press. The government was sworn in during Jup-Rähu-Sat period and from the very next day the pratyantardaçä of Mercury started resulting in bad publicity and it has been hogging the headlines with various Machiavellian stories. This bad publicity is to continue till Mach 8th at least.

The lagna lord Sun is placed in the 7th house with the 10th lord Venus showing that the government has come into being due to partners (7th house) in the UPA (Congress led political front) headed by a lady (Venus). Venus occupies Capricorn navämça which is the 6th house (enemy) of the räçi chart indicating that the lady who has supported the formation of the government may turn against the incumbent due to some political moves that may not find favor with her political principles. Venus is also in the 8th house of the navämça chart indicating a separation of sorts within the UPA when the primary party shall distance itself from Soren.

The sixth house is Capricorn and its lord Saturn is extremely strong in the 11th house in a friendly sign and is also the ätmakäraka (we use 7 carakäraka scheme for mundane charts and non living world) and is vargottama. Its retrogression adds to its power to do harm and it shall prove to be a dire malefic for Leo lagna. Compare the strengths of the lagna lord Sun and 6th lord Saturn – Saturn is stronger in various ways while the Sun is quite weak in an inimical sign. Vimçopäka strength of Saturn is 14.3 while that of the Sun is 9.1 (sapta varga scheme is used for Muhurta). The opposition will prove to be stronger due to some old people (Saturn) taking a very strong (vargottama) and unflinching (retrograde) stand.

The måtyupada (A8) is in Sagittarius with the bädhakeça Mars in it aspected by Saturn and Rähu. Rähu is in the 9th house in maraëa käraka sthäna and also the bädhaka house. Rähu is going to prove to be very diabolical especially during the present guru-caëòäla period.

Let us have a second confirmation of the period from çüla daçä which is used for longevity and health purposes. The präëi Rudra is the second lord Mercury which is debilitated and is adversely aspected by Mars and Saturn forming a curse of Viñëu.

In an earlier edition of the Jyotish Digest we had suspected some difficult days for the Manmohan Singh government during March 2005 (see swearing-in) due to partners and this seems to be happening with this episode already causing some embarrassment to one as spotlessly honest as the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Dear Sanjay Ji,

 

As per Varahamihira, a weak Moon in papakartari yoga in the 4th, 7th

and 8th is an important sadyorishta yoga. There is Vyaghata Yoga and

Vishti Karana which is one among Navadoshas. Apart from this, the

timing being near to sandhya. Can one select a more bad Muhurta ?

Applying Panchaka in the Muhurta Chart.

Mercury is in parivartana with Jupiter who's 8th lord himself hence

should we consider this bad except the papakartari yoga and aspect of

Mars? Dr Manmohan Singh's oath chart has Sun in the 8th a malefic,

yet the longevity may stretch to Madhyayu grade because of other

factors. In Brihat Samhita for marriage muhurta good results are

attributed for Sun and Saturn in the 8th. Please clarify.
