Dear all,

This mail is just to inform you that there are still some limited brains in the scientific community ... and some others suckers who pay for their wasted time ...

Not everything is pink in the world these days ....

Tomorrow is the day where a new book is about to see daylight in Sweden.

It is written by a so called "researchers group" in one of Sweden's most respected universities who claim that ALL occult subjects, including Astrology, tarot etc. are a pure bluff and cheat, used only for commertial purposes and nothing else.

I wouldn't react to this at all if not for the fact that the national Swedish television broadcasted the "news" on their main evening news without having anyone to comment it besides the authors (not that there are so many astrologers here but the daily press is full of the usual astrological stuff ...).

I doubt if I can do anything about it but sure going to try.

Best regards/Jay Weiss

Jay,

Thanks a bunch for posting this. I hope many buy the book, and often.

There are already far too many of us to earn meaningfully. Lesser the

competition, the merrier, what? :)

Cheers,

Dear Jay and Ramapriya

More people oppose astrology, it is much better for astrology.

Astrology can prosper more when there is more resistance to it. People

will be even more curious.

Look at the movies that generated controversy. Look at Passion of

Christ, or some such movie. When you have more controversy, people

will watch it more.

Hi Partha,

Not terribly sure whether controversies work necessarily well. Take

organized sport, for instance. One flutter of rumor is all that's

needed to drive a race organizer to ruin. Boxing, horse racing and

even cricket have all been mired in controversies, and have come out

the worse for it.

It's more or less like a prospective bride with controversies and a cv

showing experience; the chances of a decent line of queueing suitors

diminish a bit, I'd imagine :)

Dear Rama

Agreed. One must also note that astrology is quite different from the

darned soccer matches. Astrology deals with the " unknown " . Weakness of

human beings is to " Grow " grow all the times. I wonder how football

helps people to grow. Astrology gives clues as to what the future

holds for them, (Read as when would they really grow out of their

meaningless existence)

Dear Jay,

If some group bark something,it will not cause any harm to this Divine Science of Jyotish.I have a lot of people whom I gave predictions so far and by the Grace of God, all of them were benefitted and I have not taken any amount from them.If somebody wants to offer me some Dakshina, I never refused.

Now I will give you an important prediction I gave for a native here in Kuwait.

The gentleman approached me about an year back telling that his job has been cut off, his passport seized by the sponsor of the company and told him that he will be sent to prison and from there after,he will be sent to India and will be blacklisted ie., he can not come back to Kuwait. Then after looking into his chart, I told him that his chart some afflictions and advised him some remedies which I told him to perform those remedies with full faith in God and gave hima date that before or on that day, some compromise will come from his sponsor and may hand over his passport back. The native had a lot of friends and were surprised about my prediction but he followed the remedies with complete faith and belief and he called me on the last day which I gave to him, that the sponsor came to his house and handed over the passport and cancelled all allegations against him.Now you see the happiness in his face !The

native is working again here under another sponsor.

This is a small pinch I am giving to you.

Dear Ramadas Rao,

Indeed a good example.

Although I do not regard myself as a "Jyotish specialist" but rather as a "permanent learner", I made some amazing predictions during the last few years, which honestly even surprised me.

[Only two weeks ago, during a lecture I was asked provocatively by a middle aged woman (in front of many people) if I could tell what her profession was. Don't ask me how (I am not exaggerating, {her chart was on the screen} it must have been a cocktail of Jyotish and intuition...), but within 15 seconds I told her occupation, her current position and the emotional status toward this position. Dear Partha & Ramapriya,

There is indeed a sense of " common sense " in what you say Partha.

However I forgot to mention in my response to Ramadas Rao that what really

irritated me most (and for that matter also my wife) that one of the authors

of this book said " we felt that we must tell the people the truth about

this "

As the mentality of the Swedes (and all Scandinavian counties for that

matter) is somehow very different fro that of India, the USA and even other

European countries, the damage to astrology can be substantial, depending on

the further publicity this book will get and entual responses, if allowed to

come forward.

Hi Jay,

There's one thing I've realized about the western media, and it's that

there's a massive clique. It's like premarital sex - something that

you simply can't turn the other way and pretend it doesn't exist,

y'know.

Not that I'm claiming astrology as some exclusive Indian reserve, but

our country has been wronged for ages. Ayurvedic remedies that are

presently under western patents are well-known examples. There are

many other less famous areas where our ancient contribution has not

just been significant, they've been astonishing.

Aviation is a great allure of mine (noticed Swee's teasing of my

aircraft?), and especially after I discovered that Maharishi

Bharadwaja, a tretayugist of Drona's ancestry and Brihaspati's

genealogy, authored the Vymanika Shastra. I'll hopefully one day

dismantle the Bruhad Vimana Shastra and Vymanika Shastra in their

entireties (not here, don't worry :)), but you might like to know that

there's adequate material in there to suggest that the first solid

principles of propulsion theory, almost like the precursor to the

CFM56s, were in there. Some say Vyamanika Shastra has vedic origins,

and is part of Yantra Sarwaswa.

Sorry for the discursive bloviating, but my point is that you need

heed the western media only as much as you need to. George Bush

requires it, if only to bring errants like Gaddhafi capitulating or

indeed to colonize Iraq, as do a few likeminded nations. If you lose

the faith of a few people thanks to the persistent naysaying chatter,

let it be.

Cheers,

Ramapriya

Dear Jay,

“the damage to astrology

can be substantial, depending on the further publicity this book will get and entual responses, if allowed to come forward.”

Those who do not believe, they would get

one more reference to quote. Those who believe, they shall say that the

research is not objective. Does who have not formed their opinion,

can sway to either side based on their past experiences. So it really does not

matter. Can we have a book in future, taking their own tools, proving that it

is not at all farce?

This is simple to understand, if someone

had tried to describe how a Car looks like to some tribes of Africa,

who have never seen that. They would say that the person is mad. Its all a matter of experience with which anyone evaluates a

fact. If the experiences are negative, then the evaluation would be negative and

vice versa. We can hardly be completely objective. We use subjectivity in even

choosing the right tool for analysisJ. So the bottom-line is that I do not care, what the world says.

For those who are new to this, I would

caution them that, try to understand it seriously before forming any opinion.

Best Wishes

Dear Jay,

I agree with you.Now you say in your country there is a group making allegations against Jyotish. Now let us see as India as the origin of this Divine science, whether our Goverment has taken any important steps based on Jyotish in recent biggest calamity ie., Tsunami ? It has been already written in the annual Astrological Magazine that such natural calamities may happen and no government has taken seriously such wonderful predictions and took any precautions rather it took interest in arresting a Saint from Tamil Nadu and made big headlines in the front pages of newspapers. So is not a shame to us ? Do you think such Governments will survive ? It has already got the wrath of God and I am sure very soon, strict punishment will accrue from Heavans !!
