Guest guest
Om Dakshinamurtaye namah Dear Marcus, I am confused on a point and since you have the hand out perhaps you could clear it out for me. In any Punya chart if there is a planet in the lagna then we need to look at the number of the Navamshas crossed to see the exact amount of time. For example, if Saturn is in lagna and crosses the 5th navamsha then the time becomes five years as Saturn stands for one year.Similarly, Jupiter one month etc.If there are no planets then the number of days will be reckoned by the number of the Navamshas. However, thirteen days is the minimum period of time. Please correct me on this and let me know if I have understood this right? Guest guest
Dear Kanupriya, sorry for spelling your name wrong last time. Yes I have understood this exactly as you describe. Minimum time for the soul to stay is described as 12 days. If there are more than 1 planet in Lagna the stronger will determine the extended time. If no planets in Lagna see the Lord. (Audio = 06 - 06 Saptaloka CD01) We take the Navamsas crossed by the strongest planet in Lagna or the Lord of Lagna and multiply by the time of the planet. The planets rule different times in a Punya chart which are: Sun 6 month Moon Moment to 1 day bat we still consider the 12 day minimum Mars 7 days Mercury 2 month Jupiter 1 month Venus 14 days Saturn 1 year. Guest guest
Om Dakshinamurtaye Namah Dear Swee, I understand your refrence but the Ceremony performed on the thirteenth day [Tehrenvi] is the last ceremony done by the family of the departed as prescribed in the srcriptures, till the death aniversary. The family also goes back into normalcy of cooking etc after the thirteenth day.Considering these rites it would make sense that the soul left after 12 days and people resumed a more routine life. What do you think? Just that it made some sense.
