Guest guest
Dear Shree, Thank you for sharing Alok's chart. I'm glad to hear he is doing well. I was not familiar with this condition and found the following info on the web: Henoch-Schonlein purpura is a disease that has the symptoms of purple spots on the skin, joint pain, gastrointestinal symptoms, and glomerulonephritis (a type of kidney disorder). Alternative Names: Anaphylactoid purpura; Vascular purpura Causes, incidence, and risk factors: Henoch-Schonlein is a type of hypersensitivity vasculitis and inflammatory response within the blood vessel. It is caused by an abnormal response of the immune system. The exact cause for this disorder is unknown. The syndrome is usually seen in children, but people of any age may be affected. It is more common in boys than in girls. Many people with Henoch-Schonlein purpura had an upper respiratory illness in the previous weeks If you could please let me know when the condtion developed, and when he had the surgery, that would be helpful. Are you doing any astrological remedies for him at this time? best wishes, Willa
Guest guest
Dear Willa Thanks for your mail. I will share information in two parts: 1st specific to Alok and 2nd related to disease: 1st part: First symptom of disease started on 23-Jan-2005 He was put on steroid immediately. However, it could not control the purpura. He first develop serious complication on 14-Feb-2005 when complained of severe abdominal pain. It continued for next two days. Subsequently on 16-Feb-05 it was diagnosed a case of Intussusception (small intestine going inside the large intestine and blocking it). Considering severity of case he was operated on same day in the evening. He managed to recover well and was discharged from hospital on 24-Feb-05. Even in post-operation phase Purpura continued to come. He was kept on steroid (prednisolan) till 21-Mar-05. Even when steroid therapy was stopped purpura were occurring however, doctor advised that it will go away on its own. Finally purpura subsided around end April 2005. Since then he is doing fine. 2nd Part Cause of this disease is still unknown. Generally it occurs during the winter setting-in time or winter ending phase. Symptoms are red patches on the skin called Purpura. generally it occurs on lower portion of both upper as well as lower limbs and sometime buttocks. It occurs because anti-bodies starts attacking good cells treating them as invaders. Immune system starts treating good body parts as their enemy and starts attacking them In the process smallest capillaries which carry blood to skin starts getting blocked due to deposition by anti-bodies. After swelling blood starts sipping through these capillaries and comes on the skin. This blood appears as purpura. It changes its colour slowly to dark brown and then vanishes. In this process bleeding starts in internal organs also: intestine, kidney etc. In my son's case it was intestine which was affected and led to intussusception. Normally, kidney is affected. This disease occurs more in child between 2-11 years. However, older person may also get affected by it. Its severity increases with age. It has chances of recurrence but its not common. I have downloaded some reading material about this disease. If you want I can send the same to you. Please let me know if you require any more information. I look forward to your valuable analysis and remedial suggestion. Best regards Shree Narayan " Willa Keizer, C.C.H.
