'Moolathrikona' & 6th,8th and 12th houses.

I am happy that you enter the Astrology Forum.  We are all fine and keeping very

fine in US.

 

Moolathrikona:  This is Defined in vedic astrology as one of the most favorable

position a Planet could occupy in a chart. I give the list of 

'Moolathrikona' s for various Planets.  The Sun :1 to 20 degrees in Leo.  The

Moon : 3 to 30 Degrees in Taurus.  Mars:1 to 12 Degrees in Aries.

Mercury:  16 to 20 Degrees in Virgo.  Jupiter: 1 to 10 Degrees in Sagittarius. 

Venus : 1 to 5 Degrees in Libra.  Saturn  :  1 to 20 Degrees in Aquarius.

There is no 'Moolathrikona' for Rahu and Ketu.  You will note from above that,

except THE MOON all other planets have the space in their own houses as

'Moolathrikona' .  THE MOON is exalted in Taurus, when situated there.

 

How 'Moolathrikona' effects ones life?  When a planet is positioned in

'Moolathrikona' it becomes more contributor with its destined/described

qualities for its occupation of that place from Lagna.  This is unique to Hindu

Vedic Astrology.  The planet becomes powerful to shed more good results than

what is expected in other terms.  In other words, like exaltation and fall

(debilitation) , this position is termed as strongest for the Planet, still

powerful than mere occupation of the sign.

 

The 6th house from Lagna denotes: Enemies, Kinsmen, Diseases, Humiliation, Debt,

Anxiety, Servants and Hip :  The Karaka of sixth house is Saturn, since

associatiated with work and decipline, as also Mars as it rules arguments and

adversaries.  So it becomes the natural malefic house.

The 8th House from Lagna denotes: Duration of Life, Death, Mental Pain, Sorrow,

Obstacles, and Sexual organ:  The Karaka of 8th house is Saturn, since it rules

Longivity.  Hence this is a natural Malefic house.

The 12th House from Lagna denotes: Loss, Bad deeds, Bed time events, Travels,

Misery, Left eye and Feet: The Karaka of the twelfth house is Saturn since it

rules sorrow and isolation

 

You will note Saturn a defined Malific is the Karaka of the above houses.  The

Planet which occupies one of these houses from Lagna, though natural benific

will lose its designed abilities to execute its normal strength, during its

Desa, Sub - Desa periods in any main desa, and good results could not be

expected during those periods from these planets.

 

To give you an example the lord of 2nd house Kutumba Stana and a natural

benific, if positioned in the 6th house from Lagna in a horoscope, and the Natal

has an issue to be settled in a civil court, he may not get favorable result in

the period of this occupied Planet in main or sub- desa while it  is in exercise

at the time of reference.
