Spirit of an astrologer (Possessed by evil spirits?)

Dear Maja,

 

I humbly bow to the wisdom and humility in you. This behavior sets a role model

for all of us astrologers. I am truly touched and inspired.

 

Astrology is the science of light. It is the science that builds one's power of

subtle vison to see the hidden. Vision - gross or subtle - is shown by Agni

tattva and Sun is the karaka. If you use the agni a lot without giving back to

the agni, it increases the ego. So being a good astrologer is unfortunately

conducive to being a bit egoistic. Overcoming it is very important to become an

astrologer who does not get stuck in the web of karmas through his/her work.

 

Keep up your good work and may the blessings of Jagannath Mahaprabhu be with you

always!

One thing we should realize is that the doer of all actions is the Lord. We are

mere instruments, like the pieces in a chess game that are moved by the player.

If a pawn kills the queen, it may feel proud " ha, I killed the queen. Even the

bishop or rook could not do it. *I* did it. I am too good " . A wise person

overcomes ego and does one's work with no attachment or ego. Inaction is not

unattached action. Be a chess piece and *move* wherever the player moves you,

but don't think " I did it " .

 

Bottomline is that even the most learned astrologer will give a bad advice or a

useless advice if a person is not destined to get help. If a person is destined

to get help, even the most ignorant astrologer will give the best advice. It is

all a complex play of karmas and we are just instruments. We should act based on

our best instincts and best instantaneous judgment, but not hang on too much.

I want to give one small example. One priest I respect a lot once brought a

gentleman to me. He was out of job for many months. He was once a high flying

executive. I saw the horoscope and suggested some remedies. But I said " the

chance of improvement is low until Jan 2008. There should be improvement from

Jan 2008. However, doing these remedies should help. "

 

The gentleman wrote everything down, but misplaced the paper inadvertantly and

he forgot about meeting me.

 

Two years later, in Dec 2007, his wife found that old paper when cleaning up the

house! He found it interesting to see that the paper was lost almost till Jan

2008. He visited me again to discuss the remedies. I refined one remedy and

asked to do homam instead of japam I suggested previously. He did a specific

homam everyday for 40 days. He and his wife found a job finally in Jan 2008.

 

My intention is not to tout my abilities. SHE used this current body and mind of

mine to guide several people and also misguide several people. Thus, there is

nothing to tout. But the interesting thing is that the readings and guidance

paper was lost for 2 years and came out just when it was time for him to start

making progress. So, though I played my role, I was not meant to change things

when things were really bad. He had to suffer for 2 more years.

 

Who are we kidding? We know very little and try to help with that. At the end,

everything is at the mercy of the Lord. Without Lord's mercy, we can do NOTHING.

We should just put in our best effort and we should know when to say " sarvam

krishnaarpanam astu " and move on!
