When jeeva descend on material planes , the behaviour of panets is judged in different manner. Upa-pada is the pada of 12H ,as such Ketu does not harm upa-pada,the Karka of Upa-pada is Jupiter.The hints are available in pada and upa-pada chapter of BPHS AND Sutra's I hope this answers your query. I fully agree with you that the Parashar, Arsh, Jaimini, Lal Kitab and all other systems of astrology, Pamistry and Numerology etc are for the benefit of humanity and intermixed. All are complementary to each other. But sorry to write that Jupiter is retrograde, vargottam and Dara-Karak posited in lagna and aspected by Ketu, Moon, retrograde Saturn Jupiter is posited in 11th from Aruda lagna. So family is blessed with normal happy marital life.
