Dear Swee Ji,

When Ketu Mantra is

being chanted, Chitra Gupta's Mantra also has to be chanted without

which Ketu Mantra Japa will not have any effects. This has been told to

me by family Purohit when I was performing Ketu Japa for my son.

I hope this helps.

I have the mantras for the grahas that are from the Rg Veda but not the

mantras that are now only found in the Samhitas.

This is my present understanding of the graha shanti mantras:

Sun-Ã…g Veda Mandala , Sukta 35, verse 2

Moon - imaM devaa asapatnaM

suvadhvaM mahate kSatraaya mahate jaanaraajyaayendrasyendriya….

Vaajasaneyi-SaMhita 9.40, 10.18 or Satapatha BraahmaNa 5.3.3.12 (I

don’t have these texts in Sanskrit)

Mars- Maëòala 8, Sükta 44,

verse 16

Mercury-budhyasvaagne prati

jaagR^ihy enam… in the Vaajasaneyi-SaMhita 15.54a (in the

MädhyaMdina Saakhaa (edited by Albrect Weber) or Kaathakam 18.18a, or

Satapatha BraahmaNa 8.6.3.23, or Taaittiriiya SaMhita 4.7.13.5A (I

don’t have these texts in Sanskrit).

Jupiter- Maëòala 2, Sükta 24,

verse 15

Venus- annaat pariruto rasam…

Vaajasaneyi-SaMhita 19.75A, MaaitraayaNii saMhitaa 3.11.6A, 149.1,

Kaathakam 38.1, Taaittiriiya braahmaNa 2.6.2.2A (I don’t have these

texts in Sanskrit).

Saturn- Åg Veda, Maëòala 10,

Sükta 9

Rahu- Åg Veda, Maëòala 4,

Sükta 31, verse 1

Ketu- ketu KR^iSNanna ketave…

RE: [sjc-guru] Re: moon mantra for amavasya

Hare Rama Krsna

Narasimha,

Thank you very much for that reply. Is there somewhere the list of

mantras used by Parashara in the graha shanti chapter?

I agree, we as SJC should definitely do more homa/ritual (together).

Sanjay once said that a husband and wife should have one shrine/alter;

if they have two separate ones it can create division among them. As a!

n organization, I am sure there would also be some binding factors

involved with group rituals, and would align our minds and goals as

well. It would be nice if events like the conferences could start with

a half day navagraha puja or something along those lines.

Out here we have a few people getting panchanga dosha pujas that the

students will get to watch/be part of. I really feel like these types

of puja change the level one practices jyotish at. If one is not

connecting to the jyoti/devas unless one is doing such practices,

otherwise it is just reading numbers and yogas, etc.

Aum Namah Shivaya
