Guest guest
Shri Brahmadaru Smarami Dear Jim and Sharat, The teaching method of SJC is very informal. It is primarily done through discussions over the E-Groups with fellow enthusiasts. Often the teachers answer. Earlier all the jyotish gurus were very active in the lists. Now it is not so. Except a couple, other jyotish gurus are not that active on the lists. Nevertheless you can learn a lot from those who are active. If you want to learn under a specific guru, please see the complete list of gurus at the gurus page in http://.org. You can see where they are located, so you can choose and contact a guru of your choice directly. If that guru is not available, then write to another guru. Gurus are there mainly to guide you and you may communicate with them over the internet. Some gurus teach over Messenger and the Skype. You may also talk to them on the phone or even meet them if you are in the same city. This depends entirely on individual gurus. Those gurus who are young and in their 20's like Visti and Rafal have more time to give to to the world. Other gurus may have professional and family commitments and probably have less time. Nevertheless it is a very individual relation between you and your guru. The same guru may have more contact with one of the students over the others. Also check the Learn Jyotish page while you are there. The SJC World page is being revamped and will be up in a day or so. Many jyotish gurus conduct study circles at their location, depending on their time and convenience. Please contact them if you are close to a study circle.
