Guest guest
...Hare Raama Krsna.. Jay, I will give my understanding and use of the vara lord (and other panchanga lords). The vara lord alone will not cause bad health nor indicate what the bad health is. The first time guruji taught this technique he taught it with regards to quickly analyzing a chart (in Hydrabad after conference lecture). When we look at a chart there are so many issues to consider, by quickly seeing the panchanga lords we have an idea about where there will be problems in the native’s life in general. If Vara lord is afflicted (not just negatively placed- but afflicted) then we should focus on health related issues (according to the entire natal chart), while if Tithi lord is afflicted then we focus in on love related issues (according to the appropriate areas of relationship in the natal chart. In this way the panchanga is guiding us to weak areas of the native’s life and allowing us to access important issues quickly, but the story will unravel in the chart…. Do all people with Saturn in the 7th have relationship issues, take into account the nature of Venus, A7, UL, and the tithi lord to see how that Saturn will behave before deciding a result. In this way the health indications in the chart are also seen with lagna, lagnesh, placement of 6th and 8th lord, badhakesh, Sun, A6 and the malefics, dashas and SAV of transits, along with the Vara lord. There is more depth, but I believe this is the fundamental starting block using these lords. I have also found that the specific ruling planet will indicate certain natures in that area of life, and guruji supports this when he talks about karana lord in his dashamsa lectures in London. One also has to take into account the actual panchanga names (indicating certain qualities) and deities associated with each panchanga aspects as well. I myself have been doing a lot of research with the difference between the health related to vara and the health related to nakshatra (which I talk about in my recent book in the panchanga section). ...Aum Namah Shivaya.. sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of J. Weiss Wednesday, April 18, 2007 5:18 AM sohamsa Vara – Lord of the day and health issues Respected all, I trust all agree that good health is the most precious asset any human can wish for. Sanjay Rath in one of his lectures (Prasna 2003) emphasize the importance of VARA, the lord of the birth day, to be `well placed' in the birth chart, clearly warning about having this lord in either the 6th or 8th houses, which obviously can be understood. However, I have found out lately in a few chart that people who have the lord of the day in the 8th house say that their health is generally very good, beside a few incidents here and there. Those charts also have lagna lord well placed in a Trine or Kendra. A closer observation reveled in those cases that 1) the lord of the 8th was a natural benefic, well placed in a trine (usually the 5th which is 10th from the 8th) and aspecting lagna lord, AND 2) the lord of the 12th (recovery from disease) NOT placed in another dustana AND both aspect the 8th by rasi dirsti. Such is also my own case; Leo lagna with Mercury in the 8th, Jupiter in 5th (although retro) aspecting Sun while 12th lord Moon is in the 2nd. My health is generally perfect and I had very few health issues throughout my life. In my case Mercury is also AK. I have not seen this `combinations conclusion' anywhere and therefore wonder if anyone can comment on that, perhaps from own experience or charts that you have dealt with in the past. Guest guest
Thanks for your explanation. In the Prasna session, Sanjay mentions this briefly and it took me a while to `capture' charts as I described in my previous mail. No doubt that there are many " IF's " to the complex issue of health in a chart and one must see the large picture, just like anything else in astrology… Rafals example is another proof for the complexity of this issue.
