Guest guest
Dear list, Sorry for repost. If Mars is indicating all three of Ishta devata, Palana devata and Dharma devata, which deity should be worshiped? Is it Narasimha Dev or Skanda? Can one deity be appeased for all three devata? Priya
Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Priya, I would advise worship of Vishnu avatara for Ishta Devata and Dharma Devata as they refer to Àtma level. However, Palana Devata is focused more on wordly level and has a question of sustenance as the essence. It can be observed on the basis of tattva devata level (jala-Devi) and guna devata level (satva-Vishnu). Considering that Palana Devata is related to AmK, wordly welfare…tattva devata level is more appropriate. Palana Devata should be a satvic form of Devi (ashta Lakshmi). Guest guest
Dear Tijana, Thank you for the reply. If exalted Ketu is palana devata and is also conjoined Moon, which Ashta-Lakshmi or deity does it indicate? Thank you Priya sohamsa , " nix_nixen " <nix_nixen wrote: > > Om Gurave Namah > Dear Priya, > I would advise worship of Vishnu avatara for Ishta Devata and Dharma > Devata as they refer to Àtma level. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Priya, This specific combination implies the attributes of Sri Gajalakshmi, depicted with two elephants by her sides holding a beautiful vessels with milk and pouring it over Her... This form can be better understood from Vishnu Purana and Shrimad Bhagavatam (the story of the churning of the ocean). Guest guest
Dear Tijana, Thank you very much again. I did prasna for when I saw your reply, prasna chart had Taurus lagna with Venus in it and Ketu in Navamsa lagna! So confirms your good answer I think. Can I ask do you know where I can find mantra for Sri Gajalakshmi? There is very little info available online. How else to propriate this deity? I came across one mantra, but not sure if it is a real one: Aum Gajalakshmi Namaha Thank you, Priya sohamsa , " nix_nixen " <nix_nixen wrote: > > Om Gurave Namah > Dear Priya, > This specific combination implies the attributes of Sri Gajalakshmi, > depicted with two elephants by her sides holding a beautiful vessels > with milk and pouring it over Her... Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Priya, I don`t know any specific mantra of Gajalakshmi beside the Ashtalakshmi stotram stanza: jaya jaya durgati nAshini kAmini sarva phala prada shAstra maye ratha gaja turaga padyAyi samAvrta parijana manNDita loka nute hari hara bramha supUjita sevita tApa nivArini pAda yute jaya jaya he madhu sUdana kAmini gaja lakshmi rUpeNa pAlaya mAm But Mahalakshmi ashtakam is a beautiful hymn to Mother that glorifies all Her aspects. Also no Lakshmi devotee should forget Lakshmi Stuti by Indra… As for the mantra you`ve mentioned I only can refer to Garuda Purana where the basic mantra of the Devi is given. As per the source it should be-Om Sriim Hriim Gajalakshmyai Namah. I hope that Gurus and members versed in mantra will guide us. Guest guest
Dear Priya, Thanks for the response albeit I do find it a bit ambiguous. Do you mean not cast a prasna for myself as per jyotisa techniques or just not ask questions here in this forum? Back to my original question: What is the norm regarding casting prasna for oneself? Anyone? Perhaps it is permitted in some schools/lineage and not others? Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Priya, I always try to look for the references given by sages-authorithies, but i didn`t find any for this and Mr. Suprajarma doesn`t give a source for the list in his paper, unfortunately. I don`t see on what base can we attribute the same form of Devi to Rahu and Ketu? Adilakshmi is, among other names, known as Ramaa, means bringing happiness to the mankind or Indira (who holds lotus or purity). She serves Lord Narayana-creation…If I would have to decide on planet that represents this I would say Shukra, certainly not Rahu or Ketu. As for the Ketu I was in a doubt is it related to Vijaylakshmi or Gajalakshmi. But I think we shuoldn`t neglect Ketu`s exaltation (dignity, conjunctions, dristis will help on determing a very specific form) and his conjuction with Moon. This exaltation shows the utmost happines (exaltation) of Gajendra after His offerings were accepted by Vishnu, i.e. Lakshmi. Also i`m very puzzled on the other eight forms (as we are unfortunately convicted to forms not being able to perceive oneness)- Graha, Anna, Bala, Seetha, Subhu, Baghya, Santha Lakshmi that together form sixteen types of wealth. I hope you`ll continue your research as I will mine. om mahalakshmyaye vidmahe vishnupriyaye dhimahi tanno lakshmih prachodayat Warm regards, Tijana sohamsa , " astrology_junior " <astrology_junior wrote: > > Dear Tijana, > > Did you have a reference list for the planets which indicate the > different AshtaLakshmi ? > > I have found conflicting lists. > > This one I got from Raman Suprajarama article on Hora: > > > Sun Vijayalakshmi > Moon Gajalakshmi > Mars Dhairyalakshmi > Mercury Vidyalakshmi > Jupiter Santhanalakshmi > Saturn Dhanyalakshmi > Venus Dhanalakshmi > > > > Rahu Adilakshmi > Ketu Adilakshmi > > Regards, > > Priya > > > > sohamsa , " nix_nixen " <nix_nixen@> wrote: > > > > Om Gurave Namah > > Dear Priya, > > This specific combination implies the attributes of Sri > Gajalakshmi, > > depicted with two elephants by her sides holding a beautiful > vessels > > with milk and pouring it over Her... Guest guest
Dear Tijana, That list is from a post by Karen Skoler, she said it was from a lecture Guru Narayan Iyer gave in Edison in 2003, there was no other info given in the post other than the list. I suppose Guru Narayan would be able to confirm if he still believes that list to be accurate.
