Respected Gurus and Members,

In the person's life, is there any significance of the birthplace? I am not asking from the point of view of Latitude and longitudes which are considered for finding rising rashi for lagna. My concern is about the vibrations of particular place.

Take an example, if person's birthplace is a sacred place like Varanasi or Haridwar where many Sadhanas were performed. Will he / she gets an added advantage? Also if a person whose birthpace is some city in Iraq where tremendous violent activities were performed.

What kind of influence his / her soul will have after entering into body and for lifetime? Can it be traced through birth charts?

I hope I have mentioned clearly about the issue. Please express your views regarding the same.

Regards

|| Om Gurave Namah ||Dear Rushikesh, Yes, The birthplace is important. The Grama devata (The devata ruling the place) rules the 4th bhaava. The devata will help you giving spiritual direction and also mental happiness.

Similarly the Grama devata of the place where one is living currently will give happiness. Particularly people who travel foreign places should worship the local Grama devata to be happy in that place. In similar line, mother is usually told to deliver the first child in her fathers place. 9th house is for father and child in a womens chart. The 4th from 9th is 12th house. The 12th house controls the Gauna pada and Upapada. The delivery of the 1st child in fathers place helps the first child in continuing the lineage.

Dear Sanjay P,

Gram devta as seen from Vimsamasa will remain the same for the native irrespective of where he lives. This will be the one of his birth place.

How do you we determine the Gram devta of the place where we currently live...and who shall prevail.

Is that then seen from the current TPC?

Thanks for your help.

Best Wishes

Sharat

|| Om Gurave Namah ||Dear Sharat,My comments are given below,On 7/3/07, Sharat <gidoc wrote:> ||Namah Shivaya|| > > Dear Sanjay P, > > Gram devta as seen from Vimsamasa will remain the same for the native irrespective of where he lives. This will be the one of his birth place.SanjayP: Yes it can be looked in the 4th house in D20, you can try both from Lagna and Ak. Sometimes it's very difficult to identify the exact form of the diety, So it's better to read/Listen about the old stories about your birth town/place. In India usually there would be temple for the Grama devata. Else, you can rely on you birth chart.

I will tell about an interesting ritual followed around my place, When a new born baby is moved from the birth place to another town. Usually a small amount of mud(Mars Signified) from baby's birth place(4th house) is taken and tied to cradle in a small cloth bundle in the new place. This protects the baby in the early days. This I am saying just to bring out the importance of the birthplace.

> How do you we determine the Gram devata of the place where we currently live...and who shall prevail. SanjayP: As of now, I do not know of any methods to identify thru chart he Grama devata for a relocated place. I usually tried to read/listed about the new place I go and try to identify the Grama devata. Usually the natives will have some stories, temples etc.
