Only Rg Veda mantras when first wearing a gem?

Dear Jyotishas,

 

When first wearing a gem, it is said that you must first chant a

mantra to energize it. Vistiji in some article (I forget which) points

us to the mantras on PVRjis site (http://www.vedicastrologer.org). My

question is: Can a specific quality of a gem (i.e. graha represented

by the gem) be enhanced by chanting a specific mantra when wearing it?

Or is it only advisable to use the same mantra for the gem no matter

the rasi it is placed, the house it is placed etc?

Its a mantra , irrespective of its position in the native's chart.

It is meant to appease the planet and energize the gemstone.
