Guest guest
Dear All, Please can you calrify which one is the correct definition of Rudra: 1. Stronger of the lords of 8th hs (8th from lagna) or 2nd hs (8th from 7th) 2. Lord of 8th from the stronger of the lagna or 7th hs 3. Lord of 8th from stronger of lords of lagna or 7th hs Many Thanks SS
Guest guest
|| Jaya Jagannath || Dear SS, I consider it to be stronger of 2nd and 8th lord. I think option 3 is not correct. Guest guest
||Namah Shivaya|| Dear SS, Greetings! If I can offer my 2 cent of suggestion: Indeed as per calculations Rudra is Leo/Sun; further it is said that Leo being aspected by Moon, cant kill. Hence we may take 8 th from this as the Rudra..which is Jupiter. I could be wrong. Best wishes Sharat - Soul Sadhak sohamsa Wednesday, November 21, 2007 6:30 PM Re: definition of Rudra Thanx for the response Sarajit, i agree that is the definition given in JMUS, COVA and Vedic Astrology - AIA.However, i dont remember where i read the one under 3, will ppost the reference if i come across it again.Meanwhile, can anyone explain this from JMUS (pg 222):Rudra for Smt Indira Gandhi's chart is taken as Jupiter - how has this been calculated, given that lagna is Cn, 8th lord would either be Su or Sa dpending on stronger beween lagna/7h?Many ThanxSSsohamsa , "Sarajit Poddar" <sarajit.poddar wrote:>> || Jaya Jagannath ||> Dear SS,> > I consider it to be stronger of 2nd and 8th lord. Guest guest
Hi All, Any comments on point 5. ? .............................................. Hi Sharat, Sarajit and All, 1. Sharat, what u said re. aspect of Mo on Le not likely to kill is mentioned in JMUS pg 222, however, for the same chart in COVA (pg 50) it is mentioned that "Both Gemini aspected by by Rahu & Venus and Leo conjoined Mars and aspected by Moon are likely to kill." 2. Can you give a reference text where it says that Rudra is further calculated 8th from a sign being aspected by Mo (or Ju/Su or whatever applicable)? However, jumping to another 8th lord is mentioned on pg 142 JMUS for certain lagnas as to when it is applicable, and is not applicable in this case. 3. However, as mentioned in VA-AIA pg. 157. Rudra has to be calculated from Vriddha's Principle, so for Cn lagna, (Smt. Indira Gandhi's chart) as per Vriddha's principle, 8th lord from lagna and 7h wud give either Ju or Me, of which Me is stronger if we select stronger 8th lord from lagna/7h. So should it not be Me rather than Ju? However if we select 8th lord (as per Vriddha's principle) from stronger of lagna/7h, then it comes to Ju, since lagna is stronger. However, J-Hora gives it as Su (direct 8th lord with 7h stronger). 4. Likewise, for Albert Einstein's chart (JMUS pg 174), Rudra is calculated as Mo, whereas J-Hora calculates it as Sa. Now if we see stronger of 8th lord (direct as well as Vriddha's principle) it wud either be Mo or Sa. But isn't stronger of them Sa, rather than Mo? Or, is it that Mo, the weaker one, is aspected by Ma and Ra, hence afflicted, so acquires status of Rudra? Or, is it that 7h is stronger, so 8th lord (direct/Vriddha's) is Mo? 5. So anyways, probably someone can clarify the following: a. whether we use "direct 8th lord" or "8th lord as per Vriddha's method" for calculating Rudra. b. whether we take "stronger out of lord of 2nd or lord of 8th", or, do we take "8th lord from stronger of lagna or 7h"? Guest guest
|| Jaya Jagannath || Dear SS, It is a common practice in longevity to move to the 8th from the planet, if for some reason it fails to perform its job (say in this case Rudra). Further look at 3 rd from AL as well.
