Correct Rg Veda mantra for Mercury? Difference in Narasimhaji's site and VRA

To Narasimhaji and anyone else who knows,

 

There is a difference in the Rg veda mantra for Mercury on your site

and what is mentioned in VRA. In VRA it is:

 

" Udbuddhyaswagne prati jagrihi twsmestaputem sam srijethamayancha

Asmin sadhastheadhyuttarsmin vishvedeva yajamanasra sidata "

 

The second part seems different on your site

(http://www.vedicastrologer.org). Is yours not the Rg Veda mantra or

are there more than one? Which one is the correct one to chant prior

to wearing a gem? Vistiji lecture points us to your site, but as I

said there appears to be a difference in the second part.

 

Could someone knowledgeable in Sanskrit give us a translation of

both?

I can confirm that the Buddha mantra in VRA is accurate, I have used

it for my Janma Nakshatra prayer.

There are lots of mantras in veda, and a particular mantra's presence

in one veda / shakha does not make it " better " than another.

The budha-mantra on this site is used by yajur-vedins to propitiate

budha. It appears in the taittiriya shakha and is well known.

It may or may not also appear in the rig veda. I don't know.
