Bobby Fischer, Mr. Mars, is dead

Dear all,

Those of you interested in chess must have heard of Bobby Fischer,

who many think was the greatest chess player to have ever lived. He

died a few days ago, so is in the news again. The attached set of

quotes/incidents (see below) from his life remind me strikingly of

the discussion just concluded on the nature of Mars. And his

birthtime really confirms it - Mars exalted/own sign in 6/10 in dasa

varga, exalted in 7th in D-1, Cancer ascendant - Mars yogakaraka.

See for yourself (unless I have the wrong time): March 9, 1943,

14:39, GMT-6:00, 87W39, 41N52

Sundeep

Quotes/incidents:

" I don't play the old chess, " he told reporters when he arrived in

Iceland in 2005. " But obviously if I did, I would be the best. "

He was convinced of his own superiority and called the

Soviets " Commie cheats. "

``Chess is war on a board,'' he once said. ``The object is to crush

the other man's mind.''

Fischer's style of play was often hyper-aggressive. Unlike many

grandmasters, he always strived to win each game rather than settle

for a draw - even when he was playing with the black pieces, which

are at a disadvantage as white moves first.

He acquired a reputation for relying on pure mathematical logic,

calculating as many positions as humanly possible, rather than on

intuition

Debate has always raged in chess circles about who was the greatest,

but Fischer himself was in no doubt. He once said: " It's nice to be

modest, but it would be stupid if I did not tell the truth. It is

Fischer. "

Fischer told interviewers his favourite moment was when opponents

began to feel they would lose. " I like to see 'em squirm, " he once

said.

One commentator said there was one constant through his life -

his " running battle with the rest of the human race " .

Fischer morphed into a prisoner of his 180 IQ, a man who could

outthink anyone on earth, but could never really get along in the

world

" I play honestly and I play to win. If I lose, I take my medicine. "

" Don't even mention losing to me. I can't stand to think of it. "

Dear Sundeep, I think war time is applicable to that time and place. Dear John and Sundeep,

For such an aggressive person I would have

expected malefics in 3rd and 6th from AL!

Best Regards

To All:

I used daylight savings time for Fischer's chart and still came up

with a Cancer lagna. It is interesting to note that the bhava chart

shows Jupiter in the lagna and an exalted Mars in the 7th house.

This configuration shows that Mr. Fischer could be considered

insane. This could explain the reason for his bizarre behaviours and

proclivity towards being a recluse and anonymous.

Also, note that Mars is in marana karaka sthana in the 7th house.

Thus, the 5th house of education and the 10th house of career were

negatively affected. In actual life, Fischer dropped out of school

while in high school to concentrate his studies in chess. In his

professional life, he did not reap much career stability in spite of

gaining world recognition for being the only American World Chess

Champion in history.

The bhava chart is read just like the rashi chart. I am merely

showing the yoga described by BV Raman in his book of yogas. There

are exceptions to this rule for sure. But the yoga appears to apply

to Bobby Fischer, since he was rather eccentric by most cultural

standards.

But then again, someone has said that there is a thin line between

genius and insanity.

Om Namah Shivaya,

Dear Michal,

Malefics in 3/6 from Lagna, make one brave within. Outward

manifestation of bravery which can be perceived as agression is something else

and is not seen from Lagna. Even this word" brave" is inadequate. It is

parakrama (roughly translated as para-highest, krama-movement), so

is it a bravery? 3rd house decideds whether we will move (krama) towards

the battle or not, how we move in society. 6th house is the place where

such movement occurs (4th from 3rd). Therefore, in a way, you may be right

that malefic can cause bad krama, and cause aggressive behaviour, but

will it manifest? These are the separte issues. If benefics are in 3rd and 6th from

Arudha Lagna, a person is ahimsavadi, etc

Hope this helps...

Best wishes

Dear Sundeep,

Jupiter - Mars conjunction or opposition is Guru-mangala yoga, giver

of supreme and sharp logic and intelligence. If it happens in the

lagna axis or involving the lagna lord, the impact is highest.

Om namah Shivaya,

Dear Sarajit,

Par+ aakrama can indicate something completelly different, particularly in

spiritual sense. To answer quickly, Guruji explanation. In a way you are

right,

That is why I mentioned movement towards a battle or not. He spoke a lot, so

I just gave a few points.

Dear Zoran,

Thanks for clarifying. I fully agree with your explanation between

differences between parakrama seen from the Lagna and the Arudha. Do

share other points too.

Hare Rama Krishna Dear Sarajit, and Zoran, CAn you please elaborate more on this for our info. Also can you use some examples from your charts, etc "As I understand 3rd house is the house of supreme knowledge (7th -Shiva) from the 9th house and hence has to be the house ofGuru-upadesha. You explanation adds yet another perspective." With regards LakshmiSarajit Poddar <sarajit.poddar wrote: || Jaya Jagannath ||Dear Zoran,It is always nice to get into such discussions. I do remember the olddiscussions with Guruji and the old students and I miss them too :-).Jyotish is such as subject which is never ending. It helps us keepexploring the unrevealed aspects of our existence

and our relationwith the supreme consciousness and hence it is always enjoyable.3rd house does represent movement and hence it is the house ofcommunication and naturally ruled by Mercury and has Karaka as Marsand it is the 1st house of the four upachayas representing growth.Growth can only happen with movement. Something which is stable cannotgrow. So I do agree with what you say.3rd house is also the house where all the desires originate as it isfirst house among the houses of the kama trikona and 11th is the housewhere all the desires are fulfilled and the objectives are achievedand that is why the next house of 11th is 12th, the house ofliberation. When all desires are relinquished, then only one canattain liberation (from what? .. Desires). So more effort for growthmeans that the bondage with the material world is getting evenstronger until all the desires are relinquished and we attain mokshaas

Gautama Buddha said. Hence the 11th house is also called the houseof Hara. Without Hara (loss of all desires), liberation (12th house)cannot follow. You mentioned a nice point about the sign in the 3rd house. So aPiscean native will desire for food and family. Thats quite logical. This gives an idea of various kinds of desires natives of variouslagna would be having. I am sure it will be considerably modified bythe planets placed there in.As I understand 3rd house is the house of supreme knowledge (7th -Shiva) from the 9th house and hence has to be the house ofGuru-upadesha. • 2 weeks later...

Dear All,

Thank you for a very interesting discussion.

I would like to ask a very basic question.

What made Fisher a genius?

The chart overall is very strong and a great success can be predicted.

I see a lot of factors pointing to mental problems: both Mercury and Moon are tightly afflicted by malefics; 5th house is affected as well.

But what gave him IQ of 180?

Thank you,

|OM GURAVE NAMAH|Dear Soul Sadhak and Rafal,From personal experience, benefics in 3rd and 6th from AL do showcourage. It shows a non-aggressive way of standing by the truth. Ittakes more courage to fight for the truth and face the consequences

than to aggressively take what you can.Malefics in 3rd and 6th from AL make people outwardly bold. Forexample, I have seen this combination in colleagues who argue for araise and promotion openly. While, they may be right in their stand,

they normally do not mind pushing down the competition to get ahead. Two cents from someone who has Ju and Ve in 6th from AL.RegardsSupriti
