Guest guest
World's number one female tennis player, Justine Henin, retired suddenly yesterday from professional tennis at the age of 25. As the shortest (166 cm) pro amongst top tennis players, Justine is an exceptional athlete who overcame physical disadvantages to become the winner of seven grand slam titles, and is ranked number one for more than 100 weeks. This shocking announcement can be deciphered by Jyotish, albeit in hindsight but still an interesting exercise. Birth data is from astrotheme (http://www.astrotheme.fr/en/portraits/QeBF39gDfqvU.htm): June 1, 1982 at 12:30 PM in Liège (Belgique) Body Longitude Nakshatra Pada Rasi Navamsa Lagna 9 Le 50' 17.11 " Magh 3 Le Ge Sun - MK 17 Ta 00' 24.93 " Rohi 3 Ta Ge Moon - AmK 18 Vi 20' 39.78 " Hast 3 Vi Ge Mars - PiK 9 Vi 15' 27.36 " UPha 4 Vi Pi Mercury ® - BK 17 Ta 34' 55.84 " Rohi 3 Ta Ge Jupiter ® - DK 7 Li 51' 06.44 " Swat 1 Li Sg Venus - GK 8 Ar 12' 31.46 " Aswi 3 Ar Ge Saturn ® - AK 22 Vi 07' 41.47 " Hast 4 Vi Cn Rahu - PK 21 Ge 33' 30.45 " Puna 1 Ge Ar Ketu 21 Sg 33' 30.45 " PSha 3 Sg Li Leo rising with career karaka and lagnesh Sun well placed in the 10th house, gaining digbala. Dhanesh and lord of gains Mercury joins Sun in the 10th, forming Budha Aditya yoga. The Mercury is also Kazimi (exactly conjuncts the Sun), which renders it exceptionally strong and auspicious. Although as 11th lord, Kazimi Mercury has blended with lagnesh Sun to shed the maleficence. Mercury is also in own sign Gemini and lagna in navamsa. Both Sun and Mercury also receive rasi dristi from Jupiter. Interestingly, Mercury is also the karaka of non- violent sports (Mars is karaka of violent sports such as boxing and football) so we can see why Justine has been so successful in her sports career. Mars, although a natural malefic, is the Yogakaraka and is placed in the second house of family and resources. The second house, occupied by Yogakaraka, Moon, and Atmakaraka Saturn, is very strong but afflicted. Heavy affliction of 12th lord Moon (karaka of mother) and 4th lord Mars (Rahu and Ketu also have rasi dristi on the Moon and the Mars) caused the loss of mother at the age of 12. Family life also suffers. But why did Justine retire at the height of her career and at the young age of 25 (perhaps not that young in professional sports but many players nowadays continue competing into their 30's, ala Agassi)? The answer can be seen from planet's maturity age, dasa, and transits. 1. 25 years is the maturity age of Venus, when its potential and significations can fully manifest. In D-1 Venus is the 3rd and 10th lord placed in the 9th house. So career matters is totally appropriate as part of Venus' domain in Justine's chart. In D-10, Venus is placed in the 8th house of change and upheaval, along with lagnesh Sun. So, it is clear that some kind of change or ending regarding career is possible at this age. As the natural karaka of love, Venus will likely bring Justine love and romance in the next few years now that her schedule won't be so punishing. 2. Justine is currently running Rahu/Sun/Mercury. Rahu is placed in the house of gains and is disposited by auspicious Mercury. In D-10, Rahu is in the 3rd house, one of the ending houses. Thus, Rahu is capable of conferring gains as well as retirement. Sun is in the 10th in rasi, and as lagnesh and natural karaka of career, the Sun fully denotes career matters for Justine. In D-10, Sun is also in the 8th house with rasi 10th lord Venus, and pratyantar dasa lord Mercury. 3. Karaka of separation and sorrow, Saturn, has been transiting Lagna and enemy sign Leo since last July, and entered Lagna's Nakshatra Magha, in late January. Saturn also aspects the Sun and 8th lord Jupiter from Leo. Furthermore, Saturn in Leo begins Sade Sati for Justine. Rahu, the shadowy planet of sudden change and shock, has just entered Capricorn where he aspects the Sun, Moon, Mars, Saturn, and Lagna (rasi dristi). It is understandable that Justine's world is going through a metamorphosis. On the day of her announcement (5/14), all five natural malefics are in the inner portions of the kota chakra. One can imagine the tremendous pressure that is affecting her. Well, that's all from this Jyotish siksya. Cheers, Leo
Guest guest
Hare Rama Krsna ||Dear Leo,Thank you for the write up, my first thoughts were to see the 8th house in Dasamsa as you have pointed out. I might add that D10 Narayana dasa at this time is of Taurus Leo, whose lords are both situated in the 8th house. Also I found interesting:She had some dispute with her father regarding her relationship to her future husband. Lord of UL (and AL) is conjoined the 9th lord from the Sun (responsible for bringing one closer to the father), and the planets involved are Mars and Saturn (naturally inimical) who both afflict the Moon (mind). She wants to devote more time now to charity, which seems likely with the next dasa of Jupiter being in the 12th from AL.Respectfully,Michaljupiterguru345 <jupiter23sohamsa Sent: Friday, May 16, 2008 2:11:56 PM Justine Henin's shocking retirement World's number one female tennis player, Justine Henin, retired suddenly yesterday from professional tennis at the age of 25. Guest guest
Dear Michal, Thank you for the feedback. It sure looks likely that Justine might devote more time to charity in Jupiter dasa. These charities or foreign-related activities might also be gainful for her as Jupiter is in GL and its dispositor Venus is in A11. And the Jupiter owns HL and A10, perhaps a new lucrative career will emerge. Jupiter is also strong in D-10 being well-placed in the 2nd house in own sign, and associates with Saturn, Sun, and Venus to form many raja yogas (Jupiter also forms a raja yoga by himself). Justine's chart is no doubt strong and auspicious in many ways but she is more remarkable, in my view, because she had to overcome quite a few setbacks and disadvantages to achieve her success. Having three major planets in retrograde motion might have delayed the fruits for many yet Justine has acquired her fame and fortune in her early twenties!
