Dear Raja, Namaskar.

There are only 10 Udu dasas of which 9 are conditional.

Yours sincerely, Visti Larsen

Kleem Krsnaaya Namah

First of all, greetings to all. This is my first post to this list, I

think.

If I remember correctly, there are 40 different conditional

dashas outlined by Parashara rishi in his Hora Shastra. There are

certain criteria to ascertain which dasha to use for a particular chart

(aside from the universally applicable vimshotari). But how do we

decide which dasha to use when a chart meets the requirements for more

than one dasha? I have had a few charts recently that qualify for two

or more conditional dashas. How do we choose the most appropriate one?

Om Gurave Namah

Dear Leonid,

you're welcome! Narayana dasa is rasi dasa, and Vimsottari dasa is

nakshatra dasa. They are very different in calculation, and they

don't exclude each other. Making complicated story about it as short

as possible, you can apply both dasa sistems for one chart. As

Vistiji said in his answer to Raja, there is Vimsottari and nine

other conditional dasas (Narayana is not one of them). When you read

this book, you will have a clear picture about it. Sanjayji also

wrote " Narayana Dasa " . It was also downloadable. As I can see on

Sanjayji's site, they are not available anymore. I will have to ask

for permission on this list to send that book to you. Problem number

two, I can't find version on English in my computer, so it might

take a while to find it from someone. As soon as I solve these two

issues (and if) I shall send it to you.

Best regards,

Maja
