Guest guest
Dear Lakshmi, all, Well it's interesting to note that at the end of this 2008, Jupiter will be debilitated and vargottama while being conjunct Rahu. So that should be quite interesting in terms of Jupiter being extra weak (weak dharma implications?). In order to get some historical perspective, I did some calculations, and found (with less than 100% certainty - my calculations were very quick) that the last time Jupiter was debilitated AND conjunct Rahu was around June 1, 1842.. However, that time in 1842 doesnt seem to ring a bell (i.e. in Google) in terms of a " extra poor dharma " time.. But interesting to note nevertheless.. Guest guest
Dear Sundeep and Lakshmi, During 1842, Jupiter and Rahu just came near to each other, but did not conjunct. However both grahas were in Capricorn from April 15 to June 5, 1842 (about 50 days). At that time, Rahu was leaving the Capricorn, while Jupiter accelerated to Capricorn but soon turned retrograde after reaching 1st degree. Secondly, the dispositor Saturn was into Sagittarius, that resulted in parivartana between Saturn and Jupiter. And consequently, maligned effect of Jupiter's debilitation abated. Keeping these two points in mind, (I think) no major mundane event (religious riots, mega-forgery, assassination of saint, birth of religious sect/offshoot, rise of tradition breaker movement or fall of dharmic dynasty) happened in 1842, that could manifest the effect of Guru-Rahu yuti. Interestingly, the first Opium War (between China and Britain) ended in mid 1842. In contrast to 1842's Guru-Rahu association, 2009's conjunction between these two grahas would be severe and have long lasting impact on mundane affairs. Unfortunately, the dispositor Saturn would be sojourning in inimical Leo, 8th from Capricorn. Regards, M.
