Dear Rafal,

It is not that bhava changes meaning. It is that each bhava has different shades of meanings and different shades are applicable in different charts.

We are told that desa-kaala-paatra (place the person is from, times the person lives in and class of the person) work as modifiers of astrological combinations. Out of the many meanings of a sign/house/planet, some become more prominent than others based on the person's desa-kaala-paatra. There may be some who believe that all you need is the horoscope and you can deduce everything else (including desa-kaala-paatra) from it. But my view is otherwise. My view is that the information on desa-kaala-paatra gives additional insight and can be used in judging the horoscope.

*I* thought Lakshmi's point was good and brought in an interesting angle.

Hare Rama Krsna ||Dear all,A good Jyotishi can take a principle and show how it applies to *all charts* - saints and sinners alike.Desa, kala, patra certainly has a purpose, but also suffers from the stigma of being an excuse.Respectfully,MichalNarasimha P.V.R. Rao <pvrsohamsa Sent:
