That is incorrect. Suppose one is born in adhika Sraavana month. If a particular year has adhika Sraavana month, then birthday is celebrated in it. If not, birthday is celebrated in regular Sraavana month. Regular Sraavana, nija Sraavana and adhika Sraavana are all one month really and that is why they share a name. Thus, one using soli-lunar months (Chaitra, Vaisakha etc) along with soli-lunar days (tithis) in the determination of TP (instead of mixing up solar months with soli-lunar days) will get one and exactly one birthday every year. > Secondly, whereas we all celebrate Rama Navami on Chaitra sukla > Navami, the planet positions for Chaitra with Sun in Aries, Moon in > Pusya and tithi as Navami do not really line up very well because we > are using a more modern version of the Vedic calendar. Are you saying that Hindu tradition today celebrates Sri Rama Navami, Janmashtami etc on wrong days? > When you make new rules discarding old and time > tested ones, you are advised to think of all pro's and con's before > suggesting it. Let me remind you one thing from long back. When you taught me TP more than a decade ago, you specifically mentioned two approaches - one that relies on soli-lunar months fully and the other mixing up with solar months. You specifically said that you were not 100% sure which was correct. You told me to try out both. However, you said sunsign based method was probably correct. But, the bottomline is that you were not 100% sure then. But, we ended up using what you preferred in all our papers and also in JHora. However, your original instruction to me was that you were not 100% sure and that you wanted me to experiment. I followed the instruction, made my conclusion quite confidently, though it took some time. Whether this is called my rule or your rule, whether this is accepted or rejected is none of my concerns. I made my conclusion, shared it with the world and made it available in the software. My dharma is fulfilled and I can put one more issue to rest. What others do with this is upto them. :-) Best regards, Narasimha Do a Short Homam Yourself: http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/homam Do Pitri Tarpanas Yourself: http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/tarpana Spirituality: Free Jyotish lessons (MP3): http://vedicastro.home.comcast.net Free Jyotish software (Windows): http://www.VedicAstrologer.org Sri Jagannath Centre (SJC) website: http://www.SriJagannath.org sohamsa , " Sanjay Rath " <sjrath wrote: > > Dear Jyotisha > An article on TP Charts of India of 1971 and 2008 are uploaded at my > website at http://srath.com/ .
