Dear Friends,

Lunar thithies are free from Ayanamsa correction and as well as latitude

correction,

and occur at the same moment throughout the whole world, provided  if our

computations are on

Geo-centric basis.

If  thithies are based on Topo-centric basis , occurrence of  moments of

thithies will vary

according to latitude as topo-centric longitude vary upto 1drg 45 min depending

on the

latitude and altitude of the place of observation on account of parallax.

We must try to lift from the mith that surya siddhantic value can give better

results.

Trick lies in method of computation and observation.

For Kashi's meridians, Holi is on 11-Mar-2009 (full Moon at 7:58:47 as

per Suryasiddhanta, Suryasiddhantic computations differ from those of

physical astronomy but have proven to be astonishingly accurate

ASTROLOGICALLY) .

 

PVR distributes his software freely like me, and experiments with all

alternatives known to him instead of sticking to any single view

dogmatically. Pt Sanjay Rath has done a great service in popularizing

Vedic Jyotisha. But I could not contact them. I found their email IDs

from various sites and sent messages, but got no response.

 

Vista may cause problems in installing Lundalee. WinXP-SP3 has not

been tested by me.

dear shri girish raheja,

I find even the week day changes. for delhi it remains Tueday till 7.19am  and

for kolkatta or chennai it is wednesday which is correct and here the sunrise

timing is at 6.38 am. I have requested Shri PVR Narasimha rao to clarify the

same.

Dear Goel ji,

 

The tithi changes only after sun rise. Hence it can not occur at the

same time every where. It will change only after the sun rise at

every place. In the Indian system, for Jyotish and Muhurth purposes,

the tithi is the one in which the sun has risen and it remains the

same till the next sun rise.

 

Suppose two people are born at 7 am , January 14th 2009, one in

Calcutta and the other in Delhi. The one born in calcutta would be

considered born on Magh Krishn 4, where as the one born in Delhi

would be considered as born on Magh Krishn 3 becuase the sunrise in

delhi on January 14 will be at 7:19 am.

 

Ofcourse, in astronomical terms, a tithi changes when the difference

between the longitude of the sun and the moon increases by 12

degrees. But it is not relevant for astrological purposes.
