Guest guest
Dear Bipin, Sorry- I was quoting Sarvartha Chintamani- where Sun is refered to as 'deharaktha shyamanvithaha'. The sloka in BPHS only refers to His eyes as yellow. As an idiot trying to gain knowledge from books, I can only quote what I have read.. Could you tell me your source - is it from a parampara ? Guest guest
Hi All, BPHS says: raktashyamo divaadhIsho.... for Sun. what is raktashyama? rakta is blood...which is supposed to be red - but what would be shyama added to that - black? or does raktashyama mean blood-like? for Simha rasi, it says: paanduH ... which is pale / pale-white, i guess. Sharat, the 2 colors you ask are for Sun and Leo (red etc. and pale white, respectively). Guest guest
Hi Bipin/All, Bipin, ur ques is to Swee - i'm sure she'll respond. but how do u describe copper color - reddish brown? (of course i've seen what copper is like - but how do you tell that to a person who's not seen copper?) anyways - your question just made me think of: " namas taamraaya chA aruNaya chA " bowig to Rudra manifesting in the shades of the sun's rays :-) Taamra = Copper; Aruna = Red. Guest guest
Dear Bipin, I did understand your question was regarding variations between different texts.
