Guest guest
 Dear Friends, As regard to the translation of sloka 23 , I will mention the principle enunciated in this skloka, you may translate the meaning of sloka in your words: ' The standard life span of human beings is considered 120 years. All dasa periods given in BPHS  ARE FOR HUMAN BEINGS. In case of humans no correction is required. In case one considers the nativity   say, of horse . Its standard life span is 32 years. In the nativity of horse , if you get the longevity of 70 years by any method , then it is to be reduced 70 multiplied by 32 and divided by 120.Thus we will get 18.66 years. Even while predicting any event this formula will be applicable' Say in the life of a horse a event is to take place at the age of 30 years ,ACCORDING TO ANY DASA SYSTEM , Then this event will occur in the life of horse at the age of 30 multiplied by 32 and then divided by 120 = 8 years of the age of horse.' 'Similarly , the life of Indian Parliament is  5 YEARS. One can compress any dasa with this method to apply on swearing in charts.' This a very important principle which is given in this sloka. On this chapter , I may mention some  important clues: 1.This is a chapter which indicate Ayradaya - which simply means that what a person expect to get during the dasa of a planet. The three dasa mentioned in this chapter are planetary dasa. Total period indicates first cycle. Then next cycle will repeat and so on . These dasas do not indicate life span as beind assumed by savants sincemany centuries .This is the reason that no body dies on completion of first cycle. Native dies either before or much after completion of first cycle. BPHS as well Jaimini Sutra gives separate chapter to find out time of death.BPHS gives a separate chapter-' MARKA ADHAYA'-  in which timing of death is considered. 2. As this is the dasa periods of planets (unlike Vimsottari dasa which is a nakshatra dasa, or bhava or Rashi  dasa) , BPHS DOES NOT GIVE RULES FOR PREDICTION OF THESE PLANETARY DASAS.  One may refer Chapter 8 of Bhirat Jatak for dasa results. 3. Varaha Mihira had nentioned that Ansayura dasa gives better results according to sage Satyacharya.
