Dear Vinayak

Ur chart says that u love eating exotic food. Since u hv said that ur obesity

problem has started 9 yrs back.

8th house shows us obesity & karak for obesity is jupiter. In ur chart 8th lord

sani is in yuti in its own rashi with karak for obesity jupiter and also

lagnesh.

The only solution for this is yog, physical excercise and follow a strict diet.

Dear Guruji Namaste,

Thank you for replying.

I used to exercise(Martial arts + Body building) for 1-2 hours a day from age 14

to 19 + my conveyance was through cycle only which was additional physical work

out. During that time my weight was around 60-70. Since I stopped exercise my

weight went up to 85KG for next 4 years. Next when I stopped using cycle &

purchased a Motor bike my weight went up to 95 KG.

Dear Haresh-ji,

Namaste!

I have been thinking of posting a similar query to Vinayak as I am very

interested in medical astrology.

Would 8th Lord in 7th house having aspect on lagna lead to obesity?

Also, at what age would the effect come to fruition (since we see many thin

people becoming fat only in later life).

I also assume that Jupiter aspecting the lagna would have a similar effect, is

this correct?

Would a strong Jupiter counter the tendency to become fat, and a debilitated

Jupiter encourage it, or does the strength of Jupiter not matter in this case?

With regards to remedies, apart from exercise and diet, would appeasing Jupiter

(and/or 8th Lord) lead to the native perhaps acquiring the strength of character

to go on a diet and the energy to embark on an exercise regimen? Or will that

not make a difference?

Thanks and regards,

Rahul

Dear Jyotisha ,

Budha rules hormons and 2H from AL controls health status due to habits

etc. The same can be seen from Lagna/Lagnesh and can show health from

birth, due to choices etc.

This comes from Jaimini Upadesa and I have seen this working with the

charts. Other rules may or may not work.

dear rafal ji

Namaskar

Thanks for the astro-tips ,let me try on known charts and see how this

is working in various charts .I lov if some has adnan swamies chart .

I hav one chart which we can say the abov dictums is qualifying (knows

only position of planets ) ,there is a debilated planet in 2nd frm AL (

moon In exchange with mars ) and nativ is fat ,so one condition of the

dictum is satisfied here -2nd H frm AL has a say in obesity .

Did merc afflictions means jaimini aspects only or parasari aspects

also will qualify for it ?

if it is jaimini aspects only then the purticular chart is qualifying

for mercurian afflictions also as u mentioned here and so 2nd condition

also fulfilled ( merc is in a fixed sign and sat ,mars and R/K axis is

in movable signs )

can u explain the logic behind in considering the 7th H frm AL in

obesity yoga 's

Thanks and rgrds maheswara varma

Dear Rahul

It is very important to understand the technical part of it.. their is no thumb

rule for obesity. U need to apply the principles.

Eight house is normally for obesity. Karak for obesity is guru.

What obesity is ??

The content of water in the human body is more than required which results in

obesity.

8th house is jal tatwa.

Now I will explain u how I arrived at the obsesity of the native for whom

analysis & reading was done.

In the natives chart he has karka lagna & lagnesh is in Kanya rashi which is 3rd

from lagna. The 8th house is sani rashi & its lord sani is in 3rd house. Sani is

in yuti with lagesh which is jal tattva and also guru which is the karak for

obesity.

For obsesity we even hv to see eating habits. His 2nd house simha rashi is

exalted in karma bhav. Surya loves exotic food. It indicates compulsive

eater. His rahu maha dasha started in 1996 and since last 8 yrs he has been hvg

problems related to obesity. When rahu is in lagna control of senses becomes

difficult in its dasha period. Hence he had no control on his eating habits. The

native also was doing physical exercises earlier but later he stopped, this is

what he has given in his mail.

Now link all this way, he has uncontrolled eating habits, a habitual eater, jal

tattva planets moon & jupiter are in yuti with 8th lord and with sani in

parakram bhav his laziness is also high. All these things have resulted in

obesity. Had he continued his parakram of excercise regularly, this obesity

problem should not hv arisen.

U need to link all the associations of planets in coming to the reason of the

problem

Each astro guru has his own way of analysis, but in my opinion mercury is not

associated with obesity nor 8th lord looking at the lagna, u need to be logical

& apply the princliples in ascertaining obesity.

Dear Rafal-ji and MS Viswanath-ji,

Many thanks for your response.

I have several patients who are unfortunately struggling with obesity, some of

them life-long, but some who were very thin to begin with and then put on weight

after entering sedentary occupations.

Unfortunately I do not have the complete birth details for all, as most don't

know their time of birth.

But I will give you the details of two female natives, both of whom have become

obese and consequently developed other medical problems due to the excessive

weight (e.g. joint pains, breathing difficulty etc.).

1) Female, Jan 6 1959, 6 a.m., New Delhi

2) Female Dec 28 1959, 3:15 p.m., Madras

Both were very lean in their formative years, and started to pile on the pounds

only in more recent times.

Both used to be able to get rid of excessive weight by regular exercise

initially. But now there seems to be no motivation to exert themselves.

The second native is an emotional eater who tends to eat when depressed or

during adverse life-events.

She used to be very fond of exercise but now everytime she starts to exercise,

she develops a serious problem with her feet (due to the excessive weight

causing stress on repeated walking or running) - this means she then has to rest

for several weeks and NOT exercise until the swelling and pain subside. Because

of this, her progress has been nil.

The first native over-eats in general and does not get any exercise as she is in

a very stressful and demanding job.

At the same time, the differences in attitude to their common problem is very

striking. The 2nd native is very ashamed and depressed at her appearance. She

has stopped socialising with others because of having become hugely overweight.

She actually seems to want to change, and keeps starting exercise programmes

which she is unable to sustain. She says she finds dieting very difficult.

But the first native does not seem to care that she is fat! In fact she does not

even seem to be aware of the change in her appearance, or how much she is

endangering her life and health.

Any light you can shed on their charts, and why they behave the way they do,

together with any suggested remedies to CHANGE their behaviour, would be greatly

appreciated.

They have already been advised to diet and exercise regularly by sundry doctors,

including myself.

Regards,

Rahul

Dear Haresh-ji,

Many thanks for your gracious and detailed reply to my query.

May I request you to please have a look at the two charts above and see what you

find.

Diet and exercise are the cornerstones of healthy weight management, but I

wonder if there is something additional they can do to motivate them and keep

them going? I have suggested prayer.

Regards,

Rahul

Dear Dr Rahul Nair

Thanks a lot for the charts sent in and understand your interest in Astrology,

being in medical line.

Definitely this will help you in diagnosis.

Let me study this particular aspect.

I am also not an expert in medical astrology.  But I feel Jupiter plays a

dominant role.  Lagn is body. 6th is illness.
