Dear Rath Ji,

yes i understand the word meaning of go and nandi, both referring to cow. but i was referring to the underlying discusion which seemed to be a grey area for me.

there was a suggestion on gomukha and the person asking if go mukha was the name of a mantra or was it a mantra in itself. subsequent clarification also wasnt clear for me and then you suggested nandimukha and i was completely lost as if i was in a world of cryptic clues which was difficult for me to decipher.

i am sorry for troubling you sir

Dear Santosh

Mantra-pada must have 8 syllables, so go-mukha is nicrit or

short of 1 syllable

gomukha siddhirastu

go-mu-kha = 3, si-dhi-ra-stu =4 ; 3+4=7

nandimukha siddhirastu - for Rk Veda mantra siddhi

nan-di-mu-kha = 4, si-dhi-ra-stu =4 ; 4+4=8

Achyuta Chaturveda mantra must have si-dhi-ra-stu =4  syllables

to show the four veda where

si = sama veda

dhi = yajur veda

ra = rk veda

stu = atharva veda

Mantra-pada must have 8 syllables, so go-mukha is nicrit or short of 1 syllable

gomukha siddhirastu

go-mu-kha = 3, si-dhi-ra-stu =4 ; 3+4=7

nandimukha siddhirastu - for Rk Veda mantra siddhi

nan-di-mu-kha = 4, si-dhi-ra-stu =4 ; 4+4=8

Achyuta Chaturveda mantra must have si-dhi-ra-stu =4 syllables to show the four veda where

si = sama veda

dhi = yajur veda

om gurave namah

Dear Sri Murali Prabhu

For others I am including this exercise, but you don't need it.

I think you are already clear in your devotion.

Young people can try this -

1. Write each of then in red ink (or any other ink if this is

not available) on a separate piece of paper and fold each of them (one mantra

in one paper) so that they are all same size after folding.

2. Mix them up and leave them in a prayer place or in front of a

picture of Sri Krishna

3. Tomorrow morning make a since bow to Krishna and pick up one

of them. That will be the right one to start.

========ASTA MANTRA=============

nandimukha siddhirastu

hayamukha siddhirastu

ajamukha siddhirastu

hanumukha siddhirastu

gajamukha siddhirastu

garutmate siddhirastu

nandisvara siddhirastu

hanumate siddhirastu

==============================

How many times to do a mantra?

Mantra shastra has definite rules. The number of repetitions of

a mantra for siddhi = 108 X number of complete words in the mantra

Let us say we want to do mahamantra

hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare

hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare

....total words in mantra = 16 , so 16 rounds everyday i.e. 108

x16 for siddhi

---------------------------

In the Siddhi mantras the number of words = 2 (always) and

number of akshatra =8

So 108 x 2 mala every day

-------------------------

What time to do the Siddhi mantra?

Veda Siddhi Mantras have to be done in Brahma Muhurta for all

Vedic knowledge irrespective of which Veda you follow or which sampradaya.

rules are strict. But you can do this before breakfast but after bath.

----------------

Hope this clarifies the principle. Namaste

Best Wishes

Sanjay Rath
