Hare Rama KrsnaYou must also take into account that: Unlike a solar eclipse,

which can only be viewed from a certain relatively small area of the

world, a lunar eclipse may be viewed from anywhere on the night side of

the Earth. A lunar eclipse lasts for a few hours, whereas a total solar

eclipse lasts for only a few minutes at any given place.Rahu can cause either a solar or lunar eclipse.. sanjayprabhakaran <sanjaychettiarsohamsa Sent: Wed, January 27, 2010 4:59:38 PM[soHamsa] Is Rahu Topocentric?

Dear Guruji,

Solar eclipses are visible only on center locations on earth, we also saw in the recently occurred eclipse.

And, We know eclipse is caused by Sun and moon coming in Rahu path (or mouth).

Since the eclipse is seen only on certain parts of the world it made me think whether we take Rahu's position as topocentric i.e it's position will depend on lattitude and longitude on earth. So in some parts of the world the Sun-Moon may just miss the Rahu path and hence the eclipse is not visible.

I have still not given a proper thought about the calculations etc. Please tell if this idea sounds right.

Warm Regards,

Sanjay P
