Hi Utkarsha,

 

I have been a professional writer all throughout my life so far. I was a professional journalist and was working with The Times of India before I immigrated to Canada in 2000. After coming to Canada, I got into software technical writing and now I write computer books. It is funny because when I was a teenager I never fancied myself eking out a livelihood from writing. It was by strange quirk of fate that I landed into this profession. In fact, I hated being a writer and wanted to leave this profession. But more I tried, more I was sucked into it like being sucked into a vortex. I still hate writing, but this is all what I know, and now I have given up even thinking to get out of this profession.

 

It is again strange in my case because Saturn, the lord of ninth and tenth house is in 11th. So this should have given me some technical profession. Respected Sanjayji had once told me that since Saturn is also badhkesh in my chart, it has failed to give good results. I was training to be a commercial pilot in late eighties, but had to opt out because of some medical problem. So I am presuming that Saturn denied me all its significations by the virtue of being badhkesh. My Mercury and Moon are also not that very great. In fact, Moon is placed in the sixth house, thereby turning completely malefic.

 

I guess in writing profession, you should be some award-winning author or else you are just reduced to mediocrity and of course to abject poverty. So trust me my friend, you are not loosing out anything by not becoming a writer.

A.K.Gour's book on Professions. The chapter is specified on Journalism, but we may infer some idea on Writing in general and specific writings in particular.The

principles:(a) Houses--The primary houses are 3,5, and 10. The 3rd house for communication, the 5th house for the expression in lucid and readable manner and 10th is of course of the hose of profession.(b) The Planets--Mercury is the primary planet. Mercury and Mars--paper and ink--produce a publishable journalist; ingress of Jupiter takes one to authorship and steadiness.© The AmK Planet--The AmK planet indicates the fields of the journalist. Venus combining with Moon makes for a Visual media journalist; Rahu, Saturn and Jupiter assist. Saturn & Jupiter are the photojournalist' s assets. For the normal print media person AmK needs to interact with Mercury, and/or Mars. Moon, Jupiter contact is a welcome addition.(d) The dasha -- The dasha connected with the houses and planets help commencement of the career at right level and right time. Dear Pawan,

It is very hard to describe what you have asked. Perhaps from any Indian standpoint, I may be very rich. But keep in mind, the financial prosperity has to be analyzed in view of 'desh, kaal and parasthithi'. And whatever little financial prosperity I gained, it is because I got into IT (software technica writing). If you analyze my financial prosperity from western point of view, I am sure that I belong to 'middle class'. I will give you a small example here. I have been planning to buy an apartment in Pune and trust me I can not afford it. A decent apartment in decent neighbourhood is costing over one crore ( 300, 000 USD). I have a good house (a bungalow what you guys call in India) with a small smimming pool in it. But that is in Canada. I so very desperately want to own a small apartment in India and it is just beyond my means....so basically I am poor...I still feel that I have strong moorings in India and that is the place for me...and what I

am doing here in Canda...life is strange, Isn't it?
