Akhyanaki 5/6, Rathoddhata 6/5, Bhujanga-prayata 6/6; Drutavilambita 6/6 7/5, Hariruphita 6/6 6/5, Vam^asthavila 5/6 6/7, Indravamsa 5/7 and ikharim 6/6/56/6/4 are the shorter metres more frequently used in the major Sanskrit Kavyas. There is a whole class of chandas having the 6/6 feet where you will find the lines forming with 12 X 4 = 48 in each stanza. The variation used by Adi Shankara is 5/7, 6/6, then 6/6, 5/7 ...note the reversing like turning to right and then turning to left and sliding like a Naaga = Ketu movement. Genius mind of Shankara. The Dvadasakshari mantra (12) is actually 5/7 and not a 6/6 and strictly is not in this chandas. Stick to the simple formula for looking for 12 syllables that give the 12th house of moksha.
