Dear Raja

If the result is zero, then it is taken as 12.

In the example you give, if the lagna is Gemini and HL is Capricorn, then +3 (Ar to Ge) and -3 (Pi to Cp) = 0 = 12. Now we need to count 12 signs

[soHamsa] Varnada Lagna

Hello everyone,I'm trying to learn the technique and application of varnada as given in Visti's Jyotish Fundamentals book. At this stage, I have a question: We are taught to count from Aries/Pisces to HL/Lagna depending on the oddity of Lagna/HL. Thereafter, in case the oddities of HL and Lagna are different, we need to find the difference between the two sums. How do we proceed if the difference is 0 (as for example, we end up with the number 3 from both countings - HL in Gemini and Lagna in Capricorn 3-3=0)? Raja
