Guest guest
Dear Members, Dos and don’ts during Pitra Paksha [1] One should offer water putting black sesame and barley in it to Lord Sun facing south in noon time chanting "OM PITRABHYO NAMAH" during all the 16 days.[2] One should not shave in the morning but can do in the evening.[3] To wash clothes are prohibited in the morning time.[4] One should throw or spread some black sesame on the floors of the house during these days because Pitras get the extreme satisfaction to eat and see it.[5] One should give rotis to Cow, Crow and Dog daily. We should not talk to the Brahmin at the time when he is taking meal of Shradh and should put the tilak of either ganga jal is just water after the Brahmin has finished his meals and when the time to give him dakshina comes.[6] If some one comes to your door for begging, must give some food to him.[7] Pulse of Lentil (Masoor),Pea (Matar) and Rajmaa are strictly prohibited in Shraddh feed. So we should follow the same as much as we can for getting the blessings of our Pitras. God bless you Bhooshan Priya

Guest guest
Namaste Priyaji, Sadar Pranam and charnasparsh! Thank you for providing valuable information about the Pitra Paksha. I am a female, can I still offer tarpan to the ancestors? My husband is currently leaving separately from me and will not co-operate and so in that case, can I perform remedy number one mentioned below? Priyaji, kindly let me know if I or my husband has pitru dosh in our kundali? Lastly, which deity should be prayed during the 15 days to recieve the blessing of our ancestors? Thank you for your valuable help and may dear God bless your soul.
