Yes, that could be one of the reasons. Both a bat and a pigeon are karaks of

Mercury who is a karak of Vaani, recognition and immitation.

 

His mercury is placed in the 2nd house [house of Vaani and Pragya]

 

Therefore you should very gently get rid of their roost.
