Guest guest
||Jai Ramakrishna|| Dear Serenity, When a planet is in exaltation, he is said to be " Deepta " meaning " Illuminated " , while a planet in a state of debilitation is known as " Khala " , meaning one who is wicked. Starting from Sun, ending with Saturn the planets get exalted in this order--Aries, Tauras, Capricorn,Virgo,Cancer,Pisces & Libra. Aries is the Mars own sign, & Mars is said to be in mooltrikona in that house.Mooltrikona gets a special attention, as it is a certain place in ones own house, where he feels free, in astrological lingo, it is called " Swastha " or stable. Like our own room is the best place in the world. I was writing something, during my travel to South India. Let me put it here... Mesh In English we call it Aries. Owner of this house is Mars- the planet of action & valour. He is also the planet of courage, conferred as " Bhumisuta " probably our sages tried to convey that he is our " own " . The first house is always considered as the self. This mobile fiery house, owned by a fiery planet shows the zeal within us, the determination, the aggressiveness within us & also the passion. Fire spreads easily, destroying everything with its destructive properties & ego. The motto of this cardinal sign – " Change is the only constant! " . Mars uses this sign as his " Mooltrikona " for the first 12 & #61616; i.e. the first 4 Navamsha, till cancer. Rest he falls in his own Sign & both friendly & " unfriendly " Navamsha. Coincidentally, Sun, the royal planet, is exalted in this house. An exalted condition is said to be " Deepta " (illuminated) condition to a planet. Sun the planet of " Ego " , the Aham within us, is also a fiery planet. Both of these fiery planets in the fiery sign find this place to " destroy " everything with their " Aham " . Certainly it indicates the aggression, the passion, the assertive attitude, synergy & energy, enthusiasm & the " EGO " . It is needless to say that the Sun is more dependent on his commander-in-chief, than his minister. Sun is exalted till the first 10 & #61616; of this sign i.e. the first 3 Navamsha, till Cancer (Karka), after which his role ends. He enters his own sign & later goes on to debilitation. However, the " son " of Sun is said to be debilitated in this house. Saturn has more of an earthly, down-to-earth touch than floating in " inflated " ego. Saturn doesn't believe in this passion of burning everything with all round ego. It is practical—sees everything practically, sees the pros & cons of the condition & takes things in the hard way. Indicates that things don't come easy. Either you work hard for it & earn it, else if unearned in wrong means, be prepared for the outcome. So, where the assertive planets come to play, Saturn is becomes " Khala " (wicked). He finds the place uneasy for him to stay or live-in. Saturn is debilitated maximum till 20 & #61616; of this sign i.e. where all Sun will find a happier place. Saturn feels that once Sun crosses the sign Cancer, his work starts from there & once he crosses the stipulated degree, who will stop from being exalted? In Vimshottari Dasa system the degree of the Aries is ruled by Ketu for the first 13 & #61616;20 & #8243;. Ketu is said to be on " meditation " . Ketu indicates the detachment from everything on focuses on the objective--- organisation & planning for the future is what Ketu tries to deliver. This came from the " thoughts " ...as a great poet of the yesteryears said " Poetry is the outflow of powerful feelings.... " ..so it is!! We also need to see the lordship of houses by Jupiter, followed by aspects to it, conjunction, its condition in navamsha, & also Neech bhanga. Guest guest
Thanks a lot for the kind words . One of my main agitations (if we forget about the other " selfish " ones..hehe), is where I will die without being able to do anything for the so many babies, kids, old people in this world who miserably need help and who undergo many unspeakable terrors.  (As per astrology, karmic philosophy applies, the baby had done something very bad in his/her past, that's why it had to undergo such pain, but it's a baby, does he/she know her past and that's why they are getting punished so brutally? Well, if I get a chance to meet God, I would ask him to reform his rules and regulations - if someone had done a crime in this life, punish that someone this life itself, why make them suffer next life, in which they dont even remember about past lives?!)  So far, I couldnt do anything personally directly, and that's what keeps eating my brain on and off, but only if your words come true, I would be more than happier in this lifetime  Heartfelt thanks again for the good wishes  Regards, Serenity. --- On Thu, 2/19/09, <gaurav.ghosh wrote: <gaurav.ghosh [vedic astrology] Re: What exactly " exalted/debilitated " mean? vedic astrology Thursday, February 19, 2009, 6:40 PM Luck you!! Guest guest
Dear Serenity, Technically, it is said that at exaltation degrees, planet is fartest and move very slowly with respect to earth, whereas at neech degrees, planet is nearest and hence moves very fast. This i have read before somewhere, writing from memory, the elliptical path of earth and sun is taken into consideration in this concept. Fast motion indicate: impatience, aggression, frustration. Slow motion indicate : stability, idealism, patience, " serenity " :)etc. Best Wishes, Vijay Goel Jaipur. vedic astrology , " " <gaurav.ghosh wrote: > > ||Jai Ramakrishna|| > Dear Serenity, > When a planet is in exaltation, he is said to be " Deepta " meaning > " Illuminated " , while a planet in a state of debilitation is known as > " Khala " , meaning one who is wicked. > Starting from Sun, ending with Saturn the planets get exalted in this > order--Aries, Tauras, Capricorn,Virgo,Cancer,Pisces & Libra. > Aries is the Mars own sign, & Mars is said to be in mooltrikona in > that house.Mooltrikona gets a special attention, as it is a certain > place in ones own house, where he feels free, in astrological lingo, > it is called " Swastha " or stable. > Like our own room is the best place in the world. > I was writing something, during my travel to South India. --- On Thu, 2/19/09, <gaurav.ghosh@ > wrote: <gaurav.ghosh@ > [vedic astrology] Re: What exactly " exalted/debilitate d " mean? vedic astrology Thursday, February 19, 2009, 6:40 PM Luck you!! Guest guest
Hai vedic astrology lovers, When mars is in Aries that it is it it own sign as it also will be in scorpion, it is exa. when in capricorn and deb when in cancer, this all is very basic knowledge in astrology east or west. If you pay a book, than you will see that, it is not so difficult to learn, greethings from Freddy Wissink, vedic astrologer since 2004 in Amsterdam Holland and study it weekly in a group since 1998 At the moment Mars is exa in capricoorn round 19 degree so it is strong in his effect for people who are now lets say in a Mars period and also if the planeet is in there own chart exa or even deb. Just focusing on superior planets (mars, saturn, jupiter - called superior because their orbital paths around sun are larger than that of earth): When earth is running closest to the planet (in a chart sun would be in the 6th to 8th signs or so from the planet), as the faster moving earth catches up and leaves behind the superior planet (think of them as being on a race track), the planet will seem to go retrograde. This 'closeness' can happen even when a planet is exalted or debilitated so nothing to do with closeness or distance. Exaltation and debilitation are phasic properties like the phases of moon (newmoon to fullmoon being an arc distance of 180 degrees just as exaltation to debilitation is). Think of it as the 'planet' gaining more light just as the moon is when it moves from amavasya to purnima. The exalted planet is more contented and of superior quality and in a higher plane qualitatively. For 'quantitative' strength it is better to rely on shadbala than exaltation and debilitation alone because these form just one factor in the bala nirnaya. An exalted planet can be pretty weak if other factors do not line up and conversely a debilitated planet can be strong (undesirably so) in the aggregate strength.
