Dear Hariharan ji,

In sloka 21 , there are two yogas in this vers, and yoga forming planets should

be in

its own sign or exaltation signs.

In first yoga 10HL should also aspect Lagna ,( In this chapter sign aspect are

more relevant ,

though planetary aspect do have the secondary role)

In second yoga , if Benefic's are in angular houses from Lagna and these

planets are in their

own or exaltation signs , there is ,NO DOUBT ,that this will be a rajyoga.

I MAY DRAW YOUR KIND ATTENTION to nabhas yogas.In MALA YOGA (Dal) all the

benefic planets

should be in Lagna Kendra.

In Ch 33 -KARKA ADYAYA-SLOKA 25 to 30 - yoga generating prospeirity and happy

ness is enumurated

but in sloka 21 the emphsis is on defferent lines.

The emphesis in this sloka has to be kept in view in yogas enumurated in slokas

22 onwards, otherwise

yogas with power and long stability will not result.

Sri Ganeshaya Namah:

 

21 Swa uccha swabhaga rajyeshah lagnam pashyanshcha rajyadah

Shubhaha kendarasthita va api rajyadah na atra sanshayah

 

The 10th lord in its own or exaltation sign, aspecting the lagna forms a

rajayoga. Similarly, benefics in a Kendra form a rajayoga, doubtlessly

 

22 shubharashau shubhanshe cha karako dhanavan bhavet

Tad ansha kendreshu shubhe noonam raja prajayate

 

If the AK is in a benefic sign and benefic amsa, the native will be wealthy. If

there are benefics in kendras from the karakansh, he will become a king

 

23 lagna arudham darapadam mithah kendre sthitam yadi

Trilabhe va trikone va tada raja na sanshayah

 

If the AL and the A7 are in mutual kendras, or in mutual 11/3 or in mutual

konas, he will become a king, without any doubt

(Note: This seems to be a very common yoga in charts. Hence careful

interpretation is needed)

 

24 bhava hora ghati sangya lagnani cha prapashyati

Swa ucchagraho rajayogo lagna dwayam atha api va

 

If two or all of bhava, hora and ghatika lagnas are aspected by exalted planets,

then rajayoga is formed

 

25 rashehe dreshkana anshat cha rashehe anshat tathapi va

Yada va rashi drukanabhyam lagnadrashta tu yogadah

 

If the signs (? of the three lagnas mentioned above), their dreshakanas and

their navamsas or the sign and the drekkana aspect the lagna, a rajayoga is

formed

 

26 pade swa uccha khaga krante Chandra krante visheshatah

Krante cha gurushukrabhyam kena api ucchagrahena va

 

If AL is occupied by an exalted planet, particularly moon , or either one of

Jupiter and venus, in exaltation

 

27 dushta argala graha abhave rajayogo na sanshayah

Shubha arudhe tatra chandre dhane devagurau tatha

 

And without any argala from a malefic planet, a rajayoga is formed, doubtlessly

If the AL is a benefic sign containing moon, while 2nd house has Jupiter,

rajayoga will be formed

 

28 duhsthaneshah api neechastho yadi lagnam prapashyati

Tada api rajayogah syat iti gyeyam dwija uttama

 

If the lord of the dusthanas are in debilitation, and aspect the lagna, then

also a rajaypga is formed, O Brahmin

 

(Note: I think all three dusthanas should be debilitated and aspect the lagna.

If one only is debilitated, then it will be a common yoga)

 

29 chaturtha dashama artha aya pati drishte vilagnabhe

Padat labhe tu shukrena drishte api arudhabhe shubhe

 

The native will become a king, if the lords of the 4th, 10th , 6th and the 11th

aspect the (?vighati) lagna, while venus aspects the 11th from the AL and

benefics be in the AL

 

(Note: vilagna could mean vighati lagna. Santhanam has translated as lagna)

 

30 raja va tat samah va api jatakah jayate dhruvam

Shashta ashtamagate neeche lagnam pashyati va tatha

 

The native will be a king or equal to a king, if debilitated planet in the 6th

or the 8th aspect the lagna
