Guest guest
Dear all, A BPHS study group is available online at . It is being led by me, where I go through one verse afer the other. This has been going for more than a year now, we are currently on chapter 46. IT IS PURE VOLUNTEER SERVICE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO COMMERCIAL INTEREST. The study is based on Santhanam version of BPHS. Sreenadh and Sunil Nair of Ancient Indian Astrology groups have been criticizing my efforts in their groups, even though I am no longer a member with them. The following IDs have been used by them to slander every respectable person on the web. prashanth nair sreedhar nambiar lion_draco1983 and may be many more that I am not aware of at this instant. My mail to this groups is because these two people are cheating many , by posing as sanskrit scholars and as the incarnation of " varahamihira " on the web through their false IDs. They are criticizing my BPHS translations and have nicknamed it as " BH version " . I am telling everyone that there is nothing called BH version. I refer to Santhanam version only. I also request everyone to be careful on the web and not to pay money to any astrologer or astro classes without verifying the authenticity of email/ID/astrologer etc. Regards, In the interest of mankind Bhagavathi A true knowledge seeker and astro student

Did you study the other " versions " of BPHS in English, Sanskrit and other Indian languages (translations) before accepting Sri Santhanam's translation? ?? Guest guest
When none of the versions that exist is supposed to be the original, how does it matter with which version you study? Does my mail convey the message that I have " accepted " Santhanam version. Even if it does convey, am I a big someone to accept or reject something? Guest guest
Vinay Jha ji and OUR very own dear KN Rao ji have favoured and opined in the past that the Choukhambha edition of BPHS from Varanasi is probably the best, even if not perfect! And they tell me that it comes in ONE and not TWO DIVIDED Volumes! Hmm...! It is in devnagri-sanskrit-hindi though! Aap Hindi likh padh laytay hain, aisee aashaa kartaa hoon? Niraash maat keejiyay -- hindi to meri matri/u-bhashaa hai. Aapki bhi to hai naa? :-) Aur nahin bhi ho to kya, Hindi to bahut aasaan bhaasha hai! Urdu-hindustaani bhi! Yaqueen maaniyay! Guest guest
Priya Bhagavathi jee, Jisnay Gangotri kaa darshan nahin kiya woh Ganga ki pavitrataa kaisay jaanay ya maapay? When none of us humans are perfect, we just begin somewhere whether it is Ganga in Varanasi or Narmadaa in Jabalpore! From what I have heard, the Santhanaam edition has portions removed (say compared to Sharma edition) and hence the chapter numbering does not match. Some of the portions that were removed, truth be told, but appear in Sagar edition -- did make me wonder -- What was Parashara Muni thinking? You know which chapters I am talking about!
