Remedies for Rahu : Two path followed, which one is better ?

When somebody is going through the mahadasha or antardasha of Rahu and Rahu is

malefic in the natives chart I have seen the distinguished astrologers follow

two different and distinct path while suggesting remedies in terms of Gems:

1) Path-1 : Control Rahu, thereby suggesting Gomedha (Hessonite)

2) Path-2 : Enhance Mercury, thereby suggesting Panna (Emerald)

 

Normally Path-1 has been mostly suggested by old astrologers, according to them

controlling Rahu by wearing Gomedha can take out the negative effects from

native life. But in many cases although the negativity has got reduced but the

mental tension still persists.

 

The Path-2 has been mostly followed by new generation of astrologers. As per

them Rahu and Mercury being friends, enhancing Mercury by wearing Emerald

actually negates the bad effects of Rahu. I don't have much data on this.

 

Please shred some light and your thought on this. Which path is better and why

there is such disparity in 2 path. I haven't seen such type of conflicting

remedies.

 

What will happen if the native wears both Panna and Gomedha together?
