Guest guest
Q: What is ‘Bala Arista’? Please help me how to trace this arista in a horoscope. A child constantly suffering with sickness and has early death, say in about 6 years from the time of birth, is termed as ‘Bala Arista’.  The eighth house from Lagna, the Moon and the Sun plays important role for death of a person. You can expect a person to die unnatural death, if the eighth house from Lagna occupied by malefic, unless this is effectively balanced with an ‘antidote’ of other Planets with their positions, aspect etc. The ‘unnatural death’ is defined as suicide, murder, accident, natural calamities, or be a part of mass destruction. If a benefic, influences the said eighth house, the death of that person will be natural through disease, old age and any other identifiable sickness. In general, the sixth and eighth Lords in a horoscope are ‘related’ under specified astrological rules, to cause death followed by ill health. Suppose a combination of influences affect these two houses (sixth and eighth houses), death comes after prolonged illness.  The following combinations could indicate ‘Bala Arishta’ in a horoscope (the Birth chart must be correct to find the following): 1. When the Moon occupies the Lagna OR 6th, 8th, or 12th house from the Lagna, in aspect of a malefic, while it has NO benefic aspect, and there are no benefic Planets in kendras, the child dies soon. 2. If the Lagna Lord conjoins the Sun and the eighth lord is weak or in aspect of a malefic, the child dies early. 3. If the Lagna Lord in debilitated while Saturn occupies the 7th or 8th house from Lagna in a birth chart of a child, that could cause much suffering to the child with early death. 4. If malefic/s occupy the Lagna and the seventh house and the Moon in not in aspect of any benefic Planet, and conjoined with a malefic, the child dies early. 5. When the Moon and Rahu is with another malefic Planet (three in one house), occupies the eighth house from Lagna, the child dies early. If you have Sun in Lagna in that chart, the child may not survive a surgical operation. 6. When Lagna is a watery sign and the Moon positioned in Lagna with Saturn, the child could die early, 7. In the sixth House from Lagna if Sun, Saturn and Mars (all malefic) are together, and no benefic Planet in the chart combine or aspect that sixth house, the child may not survive long. 8. If the malefic Planets occupy Lagna, 6th, 7th and 8th houses from Lagna the mother and child (both) may not survive. 9. When the Moon at birth occupies 6th, 8th or 12th house from Lagna and is in aspect of Rahu (a malefic), the child could die early. 10. If the Moon occupy Lagna, and no other benefic Planet in the chart aspect the Moon, and such a Lagna with Moon hemmed between malefic Planets in either side of the house, the mother and child could die shortly after the child’s birth. 11. The waning Moon (the position of the Moon will be farthest from the position of the Sun - say, from 8th to 12 the house from the position of the Sun) occupies the 12 the house of Lagna and the malefic are (the Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu or Ketu) in more than one in the 8th house, and NO Benific Planet occupy Kendra, then this could cause the death of the child early. ###To give a guideline on how to decide the difference between waxing Moon and Waning Moon at the look to the chart is easy. When the Sun and the Moon are to gather in a chart, it is later part of Chathurdasi or Amavasya or Prathama, as Moon would be moving 2 Nakshathras and 1 Pada in the house occupied by the Sun - that is little more than 2 days and that is two Thithis, approximately. When the Sun and the Moon are opposite near about, 180° between them then it would be Powrnami - full Moon, with nearly 2 stars involved. The period of Moon positioned from Amavasya to Powrnami will be waxing Moon, as we all know. From Powrnami from Amavasya will be waning Moon. With the position of Moon from the position of Sun in the birth chart will indicate easy deduction of the ‘Thithi’ in which the child was born.  There are 16 and more combinations and positions of Planets are identified for Bala Arishta, and this would become a lengthy subject to be mailed. Certain dispositions of benefic planets and The Moon can ward off death in mother and child.  ### Knowledge of these, as above, will help an astrologer to study the planetary positions in a given day and also recommend the advantageous time to ward off the above results for the child birth. With the advantage of Caesarean Operation facilities available, the Astrologer could carefully spot a good time for such an event to save mother and child.   Pathi  A.V.Pathi,  Astrologer, 'Oxton House',  6, Hawthorn Road, Cherry Willingham, Lincoln LN3 4JT, United Kingdom .
