Guest guest
Raj ji, Please count me out of those whose mission is to teach Astrology! I am but an ant amongst elephants and I am neither waxing poetical nor modest. You have done a few analyses and certainly do not need my 2 cents to understand your horoscope or rather the 2 houses that were revealed :-) Perhaps there may be some truth in your statement (neecha uchcha) and this is actually believed by many jyotishis in MP and UP where I had the occasion to converse with them a few decades earlier. Definitely not something that many others do not believe in as an astrological adage. Obviously, a single factor may not be make or break like is true for anything else in jyotish. Interesting analogies could be: Uchchaa = Prince Charles (when will he become the King? :-) Neecha = Babu Jagjivan Ram or any other rags to riches story, I suppose! Just to clarify, I am using these as analogie and not astrological examples. If you have some examples please do share. Off hand can only think of Picasso and Michael Jordan both with multiple neecha planets, but again -- with the usual caveat regarding celebrity birthdata...!! Guest guest
To Rohini Ji and Raj Ji, D9 must be evaluated ALWAYS together with D1, besides the relavant divisional, before reaching at any conclusion. My experience is that for individuals, gochara is less influential than birthchart's Vimshottari and varsha+maasa phalas. Neecha planets are sometimes very harmful, but most of the times they are powerless to do any good or bad thing. Sometimes, such as in vipareeta rajayoga, they are very benign but not as benign as normal rajayoga. But in issues affective the collective, gochara is relatively more influential, and when whole nations are accounted for, gochara is all powerful although subservient to transit charts (ie, charts at the juncture of solar transits into raashis or nakshatras, the latter being more effective). <<<That is the beauty of being born as a human being! One is privileged to witness the dance and music of planets through one's life>>> Rohini Da, this music of planets has taught me to learn and attain the samatva-buddhi-yoga preached by Lord Krishna. Since the ups and downs are caused by planets, why should I be carried away by these motions ? It is true planets are behaving according to predefined laws. But ASTROLOGICAL planets are not unfree. They can be propitiated, which means the predefined rules can be changed, sometimes drastically if the propitiation is thorough. I have not only witnessed propitiation, but I have sometimes carried out propitiation. Hence, I know astrological planets are not physical unconscious dead things. I cannot use a term like " unfree " for them ; they are deities and are different from physical planets perceived by sense organs. Phenomena like gravitation have no place in astrology, because shadow planets like nodes have no gravitational attributes and Mercury is gravitationally millions of times weaker than the Sun. But their astrological effects are not in that ratio. But I do not want to waste your time over this sterile issue. Here I am citing a passage from my email to Mr Sourav Mukherjee : <<< We need to de-educate ourselves by means of Praanaayaama before we can understand the real Vedic Knowledge. The likes of Max Muuler could never understand a single Vedic mantra due to their wrong education. For instance, look at the first mantra of Rgveda, which says " Agnim ile purohitam, yajnas Devam, Rtvijam, Hotaram, Ratna-dhaatamam " = " I praise the Agni Who is Deva of the Yajna and is also Rtvijam, Hotaram, Ratna-dhaatamam " . How can the physical fire coming out of a pit containing some firewood and ghee be a Deva & c ?? Isn't it a superstition of savages?? The moment such a " secular " thought comes to our minds, this mantra becomes a dead assemblage of useless words, incapable of fulfilling its real objective in yajna. Secularism is an euphemism for the sinful mind which cannot tolerate piety. Without purging the mind of all secular education, it is useless to study the Vedas. This secular world is not Reality, it is merely sensory, and its only purpose is fulfillment of Karma-phalas of living organisms. Any sense of attachment with this world is ignorance. Our duties in this world must be performed without any worldliness, without any desire. It is not escapism. Escapism is escaping from the Reality of one's actual existence into the world of senses... >>> -VJ ================ === vedic astrology , " Raj " <rajbhardwaj1949 wrote: > > > Dear Rohini Ji and Vinay Ji, > I am really enjoying it and learning a lot as well. Guest guest
Rohini Ji is an experienced astrologer and knows debility of a neecha planet cannot be reduced to any simplistic hard and fast rule. Guest guest
Rohini Dada, I am not a Da, hence I am doubling the Da for you to highlight the difference. What you call ex+perience is in my view im+perience (the prefix " in- " becomes " im- " due to following " p " ). Because the knowledge of many lives has no ex+ternal proof and is merely an in+ternal event. Extelligent persons believing in the reality of maayic external world, however, cannot see these internal phenomena. Maharshi Veda Vyaasa Ji says in his Vyaasa-bhaashya of Patanjali's Yoga-sutra that lack of smriti is a consequence of sins. Hence, if a person remembers the Jyotisha knowledge learnt during past lives, that persons must have destroyed most of his/her sins and must be on the verge of moksha. But to remain merely at the verge for many lives and not enter into moksha is foolishness. What about the veracity of a person who remembers Jyotisha learnt during many past lives, but failed to attain moksha in spite of so much clairvoyancy and smriti ?? -VJ vedic astrology , " rohinicrystal " <jyotish_vani wrote: > > Vinay Da, > > You are so kind, but in all fairness, I would hardly call myself experienced -- what is a few decades, after all? Guest guest
Dear Vinay ji If I may ask, why not? The work 'daa' is Datta-upadesha and the Bengali people have wittingly or unwittingly brought this into their language. It is the finest mantra for making one a learned scholar and there is no doubt that if any one people in India are very strong about their tradition and culture, if any Indian language is closest to Sanskrit, then it is the sweet Bengali. So by calling you Vinay Da, I am showing the respect you would deserve - like saying one who has Dama, Daya and Dana. So, can we call you Vinay Da like we say Rohini Da I hope to see that book when it is done. With Regards Sanjay VJha Wednesday, January 20, 2010 6:54 AM vedic astrology [vedic astrology] Re: exaltation of planets Rohini Da, I have no desire of becoming a Da. In Sep 2009, four planets were in neecha : Jup, Ven, Sun, Mars. But I got a fine reception in Delhi among top politicians and bureaucrats of India (I had gone there to promote the cause of Sanskrit education). Just one month later, nearly one hundred persons of a particulat caste were mobilized by some drunkards to wage an unsuccessful ABUSIVE Andolan against me for capturing the premises of Sanskrit college controlled by me. At that time, three planets were in neecha and all planets in Trika houses (vipareeta rajayoga was also working). Gochara was much less effective than my own birthchart, Vimshottari and Varshaphala-maasaphala. Today, the muhurta is fine and I am starting to write a detailed commentary on Suryasiddhanta, esp on its two initial chapters on mean and true planets which have been non-mathematically dealt by all previous native commentators, and falsely treated by foreign commentators I possess the necessary material). I have begged Goddess Sarasvati to enable me to accomplish this task which was deliberately neglected by all those native experts who deemed it unfit to explain this " rahasyam " . Today, some friends in Mumbai and Varanasi have agreed than translation of Sayana's commentary of Vedas into Hindi and English should be started. We are looking for some translator. I want a detailed commentary on BPHS, but I have too many tasks at present. -VJ ============================ ==== vedic astrology , " rohinicrystal " <jyotish_vani wrote: > > Vinayji, > > Haha! Guest guest
Dear Sanjay_jee, It is also a very gentle and loving way of surrender and request, if I may add. In Bangla, " Ektu Dao " is not an aggressive demand (GIVE!), but a very sweet surrender in a sense. It is when a child requests from his mother some attention, some help, or just simply love. The child through those two words and the way it it is said and the setting etc -- is a total surrender that no MA can resist! While DA is used for a male, the sense and mind-set is the same! Of course it must be used sincerely and not just by superficial convention! Both " DA " and 'ektu dao'! Kind regards, RR_, vedic astrology , " Sanjay Rath " <sjrath wrote: > > Dear Vinay ji > If I may ask, why not? Guest guest
Kumari (Ben... I presume!), I think Gujratee communities use 'Mota-Bhai' for elder brother! You are right about 'da' being used by Bangalis for the address-suffix added to an elder brother's name and more generally, even to others not related -- who are older but not too much older (kakababu, meshomoshai and female equivalents -- let us just not go there...!), so would be used for a teacher, and sometimes just out of politeness, such as we use the sambodhans Jee/Ji here and elsewhere. There is always an implied 'Gradient' involved, a theme of OSMOSIS, using engineering and biological terms, just to emphasize what Sanjay_jee has said in his typical profound style.
