Guest guest
Namaste friends, > 2) 7 or 8 char karaka? > > 8 Char Karaka works for me, for many it is 7 char karaka. So, it is upto you to decide. People seem to think that there are only two options - taking 8 chara karakas in all charts and taking 7 chara karakas in all charts. However, Parasara clearly taught that 7 chara karakas apply in SOME charts and 8 chara karakas in others. He even gave the astrological criteria to apply to the horoscope in order to decide which scheme to use. Thus, neither the 7 chara karaka camp nor the 8 chara karaka camp is correct. Both camps violate Parasara. * * * Please go to http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/articles and read the article titled: " Parasara's Chara Karakas " . This defines chara karakas as taught by Parasara (and understood by me). It also defines a dasa system known as Karaka dasa (taught by Parasara) and illustrate how it works using 16 clear examples. Another article titled " Parasara's Atma Karaka Kendradi Graha Dasa " defines a dasa system based on AK and illustrates it using 13 clear examples. * * * JHora 7.33 supports this system of taking 7 or 8 chara karakas based on the horoscope. In JHora 7.33, select " Preferences " , " Related to calculations " and " Chara karaka scheme (7 or 8) " . In the selection combobox, select the 4th option " Mixed 7/8 chara karakas of Parasara " . It then takes 7 chara karakas in some charts and 8 in others, based on Parasara's criteria. Whenever such confusions surface, try to find out what the rishis advised. Most of your questions are answered in BPHS. Please try to understand it yourself ; as long as you will try to find out readymade answers, you will not perform Rishi-yajna which is indespensable for understanding the true meanings of what rishis said. > > > > > > Unless and until confusions in Ganita are cleared, confusions in Phalita will continue to increase due to endeavours of moderners to change the rules of Phalita to suit physical astronomy. Most of software makers do not even provide the option of traditional Ganita because they think traditional Ganita was wrong, forgetting that it served Jyotisha for millenia. The very definition of Ayanamsha has been drastically changed by Colebrooke who had no interest or faith in astrology. > > > > > > It is neither my mission nor in my powers to remove all these confusions.
