Phaladeepika says:

If the Sun be in Leo identical with the Lagna, the person concerned will

be night-blind.

 

This means that Sun in its own sign or exaltation in lagna is not good

 

Phaladeepika says:

If at a birth Saturn occupies his exaltation or own house identical

with the Lagna, the person concerned will be on a par with the king, a

chief or mayor of a city.

 

This means that Saturn in its own sign or exaltation in lagna is very

good

 

Why did the learned sage make this distinction between Su/Sa own

sign/exaltation in lagna
