Guest guest
Shriman Narayana Devotees, I think we have spent enough time on discussion through net. It is time we decide on Action Plan. I have the following suggestions: 1. To start with invite Divyadesam and other similar groups to come under one single forum by sending their Name, Address with PIN code, Email Id, Contact Phone/Cell Numbers. 2. These people will be grouped Area wise for better co ordination and action. 3. Someone from US/CANADA to organise fund raising compaign by inserting requests over net and emailing to all Indians living there, coordinate collect funds and transfer to India, 4. Someone from Australia and Neziland to do as above. 5. Someone from UK to do as above. 6. Someone from Gulf and west Asian countries to do as above. 7. Someone from Singapore to organise as above in the East Asian countries. 8. Cluster wise committies in Divyadesam Areas - at Kanchipuram,Thirunangur, Srirangam, Kumbakonam, Mayavaram, Madurai, Srivaikundam, Sivaganga.- For identifying interested persons for Service, fund collection, identifying priority-wiseneeds of respective cluster temples. Also for identifying leading Businessmen, Industrialists Charitable Endowment Institutions and Rich men for fund Raising. 9. Central Co ordinating commitee at Chennai to organise and Run the show on dedicated and selfless service. I have written the above just to begin the activities. Further actions to be decided by various committees to be formed. Any other Action Plan/Suggestions may please be communicated to all Divyadesam members. Guest guest
Dear Sri Rajagopalan swamin & All the Bhaagavathaas, Your ideas are excellent. Following is my humble suggestion on this gigantic task of rebuilding the Divya Desam temples. 1. A TRUST should be formed with a person like you as the Managing Trustee. 2. Sri. Soundarajan Desikan who has done yeoman service to Srivaishnavism and also to the society should be persuaded to join or to head this TRUST. In such a case yourself can be the Secretary. 3. The Trust should open a bank account in a Nationalized bank. The bank should accept the amounts in to the account from wherever it is deposited. Nowadays with all the Major banks having SWIFT-codes etc. money transfer from anywhere should not be a problem. 4. Then any person who pays Rs.10000/- (may be in some 15-20 installments) should be treated as a MEMBER. Members after paying this amount can continue to contribute their might on a monthly or yearly basis. 5. One person to be identified from such membership from each city, country as the co-ordinator. It will be the job of such a co-ordinator to keep the list of the members etc., from his area and also to follow up. 6. ANY INDIAN CAN contribute any amount from Rs.1 to any amount, to this noble cause - should be the message, we should spread. 7. A separate web site is to be created to keep the information regarding the happenings of the trust and the activities of the trust. I am also a retired person from Bangalore. I worked in an MC in various capacities. If I am useful in any capacity, to the this or any other similar cause, I shall deem it as my bhaagyam. If I have exceeded anywhere kindly pardon me. It is the enthusiasm to the cause which made me to write this. OM Nam Maryanna Adi yen Dawson, Rancher --- S RAJAGOPALAN <yesargee wrote: V.S. Guest guest
All this is great initiative and effort. But I am afraid, these are only stop-gap measures. What can we do to force the athiest Tamil Nadu government and the TTD to use the funds it harvests from temples (The Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious Endowments Dept) to maintain needy temples of antiquity? I am concerned that any money raised thorugh this process will end up in DMK pockets over time.http://www.hrce.tn.nic.in/"The management and control of the temples and administration of their endowment has been recognized as one of the primary responsibilities of the State. A number of measures have been undertaken prior to the year 1925 for efficient control and supervision of the administration of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments. In Act 1 of 1925, the Government constituted the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Board consisting of a President and two to four Commissioners nominated by the Government to function as a statutory body. Subsequently Act 1 of 1925 was repealed by the Act 2 of 1927, which was followed by several modifications up to 1951. In order to streamline the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Board, a Special Officer (Thiru. R.V. Krishna Iyer ) was appointed in the year 1940. The Special Officer recommended that the Government may administer the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments instead of the Board. The non-official committee appointed in the year 1942 under the Chairmanship of Thiru. P. Venkataramana Rao Naidu, a Retired Judge of High Court of Judicature, Madras recommended among other things that it would be advantageous to convert Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Board into a Government administration. Accepting the above recommendation, the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1951 was enacted provincialising the administration of the Hindu Religious Institutions. Comprehensive amendments have been made to this Act and Tamilnadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act XXII of 1959 came into force with effect from 1st January 1960. ii) With a view to oversee the administration of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments in a proper manner, it was decided in the year 1991, that Religious and spiritual leaders should be involved in the proper maintenance and administration of Hindu and Jain Temples and Charitable Endowments and that their suggestions and guidance should be obtained regarding the administration of Charitable Endowments. Accordingly, many amendments were brought to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1959. iii) As a result of this, the Amendment Act, 1991 (Amended Act 46/91) was enacted. As per the Amendment Act, a two-tier system (i.e.) Temple Administration Board at State level and District Committees at District level was established. This Amendment Act came into force on 13-12-1991. iv) The Government which came to power during 1996, disbanded the Temple Administration Board and District Committees and entrusted the administration of Hindu Religious Institutions with the Commissioner and the Subordinate Officers so as to make it as it existed prior to the Amendment Act, 1991 and enacted Amendment Act, 1996 (Tamil Nadu Amended Act 39/1996). This Act is in force since 9-12-1996."Genghis , "M. S. SRINIVASA PRASAD" <msspbipl wrote:>> Dear Sri U.Ve. Guest guest
Hello your concern is meaningful. However, we have to wait for good time to come. In the meantime, kainkaryams aiming at the following are attempted for which nobody will resist. Further kainkaryams are aimed in divyadesams with a poor maintenance record and neglected by even by the locals. 1.Cleaning of Temple premises. 2.Temple Garden 3. Ensuring the opening of temples regularly and Pujas performed 4. Uninterrupted sevas for the sevarthis who visit these temples from far and near. 5. Better living conditions for Bhattars and other temple staff etc. These are attempted with small contributions. The accounts will be very transparent. Hence Please support such noble causes. Any adverse comment will dampen the spirits of those people who are committed for this noble cause. Now that's room service! Guest guest
People, why do we want to reinvent a website. A few months ago, I found this excellent website which gives descriptions, photos, appropriate prabandhams in script and sound, and travel directions to all 106 divya desams on this planet:http://srivaishnavam.com/divyadesam108/index.htmlIt seems that the website keeper, Vangipuram Venkat, is a sishyan of the the Ahobila Mutt. The only place on the website he has displayed a vadagalai thiruman is on page where he present the prabandhams in script (downladable Word docs actually). On this page he also displays Udayavar with a thenkalai thiruman and desikan.I think we should work with Venkat and find ways to improve it - eg, add a tab on maintenance issues, addressing DK politics specific to a temple ( like Srirangam), dealing with a few biased smartha attacks on specific temples like jayendra's attacks, etc. Most importantly, I am interested in the history of each temple - who built it, why (both real and puranic reasons), when, who improved it, origin of any specific customs, who visited it, like Udayavar and when, etc. I would love to find a way to integrate this information with existing info.Genghis , "Dr. Sadagopan" <yennappan wrote:>> SrI:> > Dear Sriman Vardhan :> > It is good to hear from you .> There is no intent in changing any past> practises .
