Re: TTD Practices

THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Please respect the past traditions and values of the temple- the administration is there only to preserve the traditions and not distort it.

Only vested interests are trying to make such atrocious thingsEven according to non-Vaishnava schools of thought, Lakshmi is a form of the universal mother Parvati.

Hence identifying lakshmi with Ganapati is unethical and abusive by any yardstick. The way TTD have printed the calendar is rather ridiculous and humiliating. They have written in sequence "Sriyai namah, Sri mahalakshmi ganapataye namah, Sri lakshmi Venkateswarabhyam namah", thus questioning the supremacy of sarvEsvara Lord Srivenkateswara and anayArha Seshtavam or exclusive belonging of Mother Lakshmi to Srimannarayana. This is how the official Thirumala temple panchangam which enlists various festivals and thirunakshatrams is published, pooh-poohin at the very fundamental traditions that are followed in the temple.

Dear Bakthas TTD may be doing good job of running the administration. But they do not have the right to change the past traditions. While saivites and vaishnavites are entitled to have their own views and follow different theologies, one should not foist one on another . What TTD is trying to do at Tirumala is to change the age old practices set up by saint Ramanuja 1000 yeras back. Even the views of the jeer at Tirumala, an institution set up by Sri Ramanuja, is being ignored by the temple authorities - this should not be tolerated - public interest litigation is one option. Bombarding the authorities with

letters and emails is another option - requesting the jeers and mutt authorities to persue with TTD is another option - Representing to Smt Sonis Gandhi whose congress govt has representatives in TTD Board is another option - even in vatican they do not change past practices Adiyen dasan Varadhan Please see my emails sent earlier to TTD I have marked copy of this email to the EO of TTD also- Hope they have the maturity to take action - I presume that the new temples proposed at four metros also do not change the spirit and past traditions of the temple - T.E.S. Varadhan executiveofficer_ttd ; eottd Cc: facao ; webmaster Saturday, March 17, 2007 10:25 AM Re: TTD Practices It is noted that due to the intervention of vested interests the saivite practices are

being forced upon in the rituals of the vasihnavite temple which were set up by saint ramanuja 1000 years back Please ensure that old practices , rituals and values are not distorted as otherwise public interest litigations will have to be filed to protect the past ---- Original Message ----- T.E.S.
