Dear Sriman Manoram Chaitanya Das :

Your carefully thought out and clearly articulated suggestions

regarding "practicals" are most welcome and timely .

I agree that we should proceed one step at a time and seek

the dhivya dampathi's anugraham to serve Them .

There are so many devotees in the groups , who can come forward

and serve the dhivya dampathis .

NamO Sri RanganAthAya ,

V.Sadagopan

Respected Vaishnavas,Dandavats Pranams!Srimathe Ramanujaya Namah! It is a humble request to all vaishnavas to kindlyallot ten minutes from their busy schedule to readthese suggestions in connection with the Divya DesamKainkaryam. As suggested by Sri Sadagopan prabhu, we must be slowand steady on the planning of divya desha kainkarayam- slow and steady wins the race. In the past two weeks many suggestions have poured inand more than 75 vaishnavas represented their viewsand expressed their desire to actively participate inthe Kainkaryam. More the suggestions, better the ideaswe derive; inviting views from all concernedemphasizes the importance of their participation. There can be a deadline for receiving suggestions andviews from everyone concerned. Senior vaishnavas likeSri Sadagopan swamy, Sri Sudharsan Madabushi swamy,Sri Ivk Chary swamy, Sriman Anbil Swamy, Sri UrupatturSoundra Rajan Desikan Swamy, Sri Venkat RamadhuraiSwamy, Sri Swamynathan Swamy of UAR (Dubai), SriKrishnan Cidambi Swamy of Bangalore, Sri MukundSrinivasan Swamy of Singapore, Tamarupa Sampath KumaraSwamy can decide on the final date and form a steeringcommittee. Below are a few of my humble suggestions -Small groups under one roof:It is said that in Vrndavan dham there were severalgroups of gopikas serving lord Krsna and they all fallunder Srimathi Radha Rani the most significant amongstall gopikas. Every group had a prescribed set of services andresponsibilities to perform. These gopikastree groupscompeted amongst themselves to serve the lord to thebest of their abilities and they were considered to bedivine and spiritually competitive. Similarly, we too could have few authorized groups tomake our services to the lord better and best. It isimportant that all these groups fall into one maingroup. It is possible to manage small groups ratherthan large groups where there are too many and most ofthem would not have an opportunity to participate. Every small group must have a leader and this serviceis again changeable and so every member could have aspiritual experience in the steering group. It is also easy to manage finances and accounts andthe groups could present their monthly services duringthe e-conferences. It is normally observed that theintrapersonal relationships in larger groups are moreprofessional and impersonal, whereas intrapersonalrelationships are much better in smaller groups. Thisis mainly due to the fact that all members interact toachieve their said spiritual goals. The Mode of operation:Step 1: Identify groups in India who are alreadyinvolved in the divyadesa kainkaryam and financiallyassist them.Step II: Existing spiritual groups in the UnitedStates, Europe, Gulf and South East Asian countriescould individually identify a person from India anddecide to work on one Divya Desham according to theirfinancial capacity. It would be better if the groupsworked on one Divya Desham at a time. After havingimproved upon the identified Divya Desham to higheststandard as desired by our Acharyas, they could takeupon work on another Divya Desham. This wouldcertainly provide Atma Trupti derived from the servicerendered to the fullest extent. Step III: On a certain date all senior vaishnavasfrom various groups could share their servicesrendered and their opinions on a common e-platform tobroaden their work and ideas. This will naturallygive kainkaryams the said exposure to other groupmembers. Step IV: Where certain groups, unable to identify anyperson in India they could join hands with the othergroups in other countries to achieve their objectives.Suggestions on Issues to concentrate:Devotees or bhagavathas are more important than theLord himself. Glories of the Lord reach others onlythrough his ardent devotees or bhagavathas and all ofus are well aware of the fact that Lord Krsna isextremely happy when a person serves his devotees. In olden days the kings maintained Vaishnava Brahminsso that they could read the scriptures to them andpreach the same to the public. When there is noAcharam and pracharam, society degenerates andcorruption persists and so generations lead anunethical life.Vaishnava Brahmanas are considered to be head ofsociety and body without a proper head is a uselessone. The modern day kings are ignorant and do not giveimportance to the maintenance of temples and hisdevotees.1. We must make an effort to improve temples andDhivyadesam related to Alwars and Acharyas. The Lordis happiest when temples singing the glory of hisdevotees are improved and maintained. 2. The priests in temples should be given an amountfor maintenance and their living they are now beingpaid only paid Rs.1, 500/= per month and to maintain afamily one would at least need Rs. 5,000 every month. The priest’s family should be covered with a mediclaim policy. The children of the priests ifinterested must be encouraged to pursue gurukulasystem of education and study the dharma shastras. Apiece of land and a nice shelter must be provided forthe priests and should be also provided with a cow ifhe can take care of it properly.3. If the priests were quite settled in life, theywould take all efforts to serve the deities in thetemples with love and devotion. The temples glorydepends upon the priest who worships the residingdeity. The groups must ensure that priests at thetemples have immense knowledge combined with bhaktifor the lord they worship daily. They must alsoensure that priest do not mechanically perform puja tothe lord which in turn reflects adversely on thedevotees visiting the temples. If all this is notdone with pure dedication to the lord, the temple hasan ambience of incompleteness. 4. There should be many Veda Paathashaalaas toencourage children from various sects of society topursue Vedic education. Children are the future ofour spiritual society. Presently, many temples aredevoid of priests performing Aaradhana, aachaaram andprachaaram and so this would continue and there wouldnot be even one to serve the lord at his temples – arewe going back to the dark ages? 5. In the past, vaishnavas were financiallyhandicapped and thus they were forced to take to otherprofessions. Now by grace of the lord the scene haschanged drastically where there are enough vaishnavasto financially contribute to the welfare of thecommunity. So it is our bounden duty to encourage oneof our Children to pursue complete vaishnava lifestyle. We should also settle down in the DivyaDeshams to actively participate in improving thetemples and vaishnava culture - Charity begins athome.6. It may all sound too idealistic and complicated, the lord looks at how much effort, pain and stress thedevotees take to serve him to the highest standardsset by his Alwars and Acharyas. Kindly forgive me for any offences committed in theabove presentation.Yours fallen servant,Manoram Chaitanya dasan.________Sucker-punch spam with award-winning protection.
