Agni Nakshathram is the name of a famous movie by Sri Mani Ratnam

as well as the 2 week plus time of the year ( the last 14 days in Chitthirai

and first week of VaikAsi ) . This year , it si from May 4-29 . The days

are torrid ( 40 degrees Temperature and the nights are warm) . May 30 is

Swamy NammAzhwAr's Thirunakshathram .

 

Agni is the devathA for KrutthikA Constellation under which

SubrahamaNyan was born . . Hence Agni is connected with

SubramaNyan alias KaarthikEyan , the second son of Lord Siva and

Parvathy . The Six agni sparks of the ojas of Lord Siva were fused together

to become ShaNmukhan . Hence Agni Nakshathram is connected to

SubramaNya KshEthrams like Pazhani , where people make Giri PradakshiNam .

 

Just hot days in summer are in short called Agni Nakshathram .
