Guest guest Posted June 3, 2007 Report Share Posted June 3, 2007 SrI: Dear Devotee : As Sriman Seshadri mentioned , KumbakONam is the base to visit not only the Temples of SaarangapANi ,ChakrapANi and Raamar at KumbakONam but also Oppiliappan Sannidhi ( 6 Kilmeters to the East of KumbakONam ) , NaacchiyAr Koil , PuLLambhUthangudi , AadhanUr , Nandhipura ViNNagaram. There is very good bus connections from KumbakONam to Oppiliappan Koil , NaacchiyAr Koil . We talked about VaishNava temples sofar . There are number of Siva Sthalams sung by NaayanmArs in and around KumbakONam as well . For instance , ThirunAgEswaram , which is half a mile away from Oppiliappan Koil is Raahu KshEthram . Best way to cover all these kshEthrams is to have a day Taxi . These twmples might be closed form 12 to 4 PM and open as early as 8 AM ( especially the big ones) . Next time , please plan on visiitng Temples in and around SeerkAzhi- Mayavaram ( 13 dhivya dEsams of ThirunAngUr -Thirunahari et al) . Sriman Rajagopalan will help you . Infact you can join in some of the groups traveling with hiom from Chennai to cover these dhivya dEsams .
