Guest guest
HARI OM! OM NAMO NARAYANA! What Madam Padma is stating is 100% RIGHT. Even Great Acharyas like Ramunuja & Sankara advocated such UNITY in Diversity. Let us NOT allow our narrow vision and prejudices lead to disunity among our Baratheeyas. We all came united in this Group due to our adoration for the Divya Desams. It does not mean that we should just ignore or degrade the equally great Siva Shrines like Chidambaram or Kashi. Let us NOT open our gates for the invaders to destry our Sanatana Dharma! Divya Desam Tour Dear Sir, I am amazed and upset reading this message and seek apologies before starting my reply. I do not know prabandam or what the alwars said neither do I know thevaram or thiruvasagam or scriptures related to saivism. But whatever I heard from many elders and learned people is Shiva and Vishnu are the same, hari and sivan are one and the same and in many sthalams they are found together in different prakarams. I hope all the members had read about the high rate of conversion and our religion is facing a major crisis. In such circumstances should we narrow down our faith and beliefs? Earlier we had the Kalai problems and now this which is amazing. I am deeply troubled with this message. We may have come together as we have common interest in Divya Desams but should we allow such thinking to proliferate through this good medium. Tolerance is the basis of our religion and in fact this has been exploted by other faiths. I apologize if I have hurt the feelings of anyone with my reply. I sincerely apologize for any confusion created regarding the temples we propose to visit. Mr S. Rajagopal who has visited 97 Divya Desams twice is willing to organize such tours in a planned and economic way. We have proposed a 2 day trip (September 22 and 23, 2007) starting from Parthasarathy temple at Chennai and the tentative route is to take the ECR road and visit Tiruvidandhai, Tirukadalmallai, Tiruvahanthipuram, Chidambaram Nataraja where Govindarajaperumal is enshrined and then move to Vaitheeswaran Koil. The next day, Sunday we will be visiting the 12 Divya Desams in Sirkazhi (Thirunangur) and return back to Chennai around 10.30 PM in the night. The Thirunangur falls under the Chozha Divya Desams. Mr Rajagopal says there are 11 very old Shiva temples in and around Thirunangur and if members are willing, we can visit these shrines also. The cost he says will be roughly Rs.800/ person including breakfast and 2 meals both days as well safe stay in the night. It can be slightly on the lower or higher side and will be determined once 12 members are identified. Mr Rajagopal is also willing to organize such tours to Malainadu, Kerala and Karnataka Divya Desams entwined with other important shrines in these areas provided a confirmed group is formed. His sole idea is to serve the bhaktas and offer his services and knowledge as much as possible which he sees is a service to God. I request you all to contact Mr S. Rajagopal at 98400-17492 on Sunday and speak to him further on this. He is in Maduari today to participate in Bhoomi Pujan of a mutt/ temple renovation and expected back to the city on Sunday. I live and work at Mumbai and unable to personally coordinate this tour. With Respects, Padma Krishnamurthy Get the freedom to save as many mails as you wish. Click here to know how.
