Namaskarams,

I have a friend who asked me regarding the following query. He was asking me is

there any basic rule of thumb to decide whether Pradhamai (the first day after

Pournami (Full Moon Day) or Amavasya (New Moon Day) is inauspicious.

With a few Internet searches, it seems to be inauspicious. But I just thought I

would throw open the query so that some one can share thoughts about the same.

In case of it being inauspicious is there any prayschittam that can be done to

mitigate the effects and have work started on that day?

Thanks and Regards,

Dear Sir,

I fully agree with your view point and explanation.

My father used to say " It is God who created days,

time, stars etc., and therefore nothing can be bad.

Who are we to find fault with HIS creation-Every thing

created has some purpose " .

Sriman Deepak Kumar Vasudevan swamy,

Regarding your query about Pradhamai, I would like to clear. See my scanned text in Tamil version in attachment. If it is not displayed, copy the attached Tamil font and paste in Fonts folder in winnt in C Drive. Then open the attached text in MS Word. Even if you not clear give your address, I will send by post.
