Guest guest
SrI: Dear All : This is an input with practical hints for travel to these dhivya dEsams from Sri SrinivAsan : V.Sadagopan We had been to ALWAR TIRUNAGARI, nava TIRUPATHI, NANGU NERI, TIRUKURUNGUDI and had excellent darshan of the DIVYA DHAMAPATHIS. I can suggest as below for persons going for first time to these places :Take a train - preferably the Kanyakumari Express from Chennai and get down at VALLIYUR a next station after TIRUNELVELI. This Kanyakumari Express reaches VALLIYUR by 6:10 or so. Take an auto 10 km to TIRUKURUNGUDI. Stay in SRIRANGAM ANDAVAN Ashram. The TIRUKURUNGUDI temple has lots of sculptures and it may take one full day to appreicate them. The next day visit a small hillock with pre cooked food. There is a lovely Perumal temple up hill and refreshing streams for taking bath.Spend entire day there and come back in the evening. The next day take an auto and visit TIRU VATA PARAI where HH Ramanuja was unconsciously was shifted from KERALA overnight and where The Lord Himself became a disciple to the great ACHARYA. And visit the BRINDAVAN of TIRU MANGA AZWAR. In the afternoon, take a bus to NANGU NERI a place formed in between four lakes. Beautiful temple and get blessings of the JEER Swami who also is a good singer. Take a bus and come to ALWAR TIRUNAGARI and stay in AHOBILA Mutt and food can be organised in the care taker MAMI's house. Temple can be visited over night.Next day get up by 4 AM , have a cool bath in TAMIRAPARANI river and take a hired car and visit NAVA TIRUPATHI all in one go. Evening take the train from TIRUNELVELI and come back to Chennai the next day. --- All it takes is just four days of good planning. The trip is lovely in any time of the year. --------------- xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Today just coming back from SRIPERUMBOODHUR where HH Ramanuja utsavam is being conducted in a very lovely manner in the main temple and also in VEDANDA DESIKAR TEMPLE.Entire town offers free food for the 10 days. You must visit these places to see how people are so simple in life.I was bewildered to see such simplicity, honesty and basically a welcome home attitude.
