Guest guest
maRavAdhu-மறவாத௠The splendid analysis of Sri PeriyavAchAn pILLai continues. Kaliyan mentions to his mind 'Without forgetting always think about the Lord with Tirumanthram' The commenataor wonderfully anlayses the word 'Withouf Forgetting' -'maRavAdhu' ---மறவாதà¯-TirunedunthAnTakam 4th pAsuram. Wihout forgetting what? Forgetting the world?Forgetting the materialistic and other such desires? SvAmi PeriyavAchAn piLLai questions- Does it mean that AzvAr cautions himself from receding into materialistic and other interests and forget the Lord? Does it mean that Kaliyan has not got himself completely extricated from these and fears drowning into these time and again? Parryng any such doubts, the commenator explains that, since this is charama dasai of Tirumangai AzvAr( i.e AzvAr had crossed those stages and is in the final stage and all other interests had withered off) there is no quesion of those interests surfacing again. Since, this is the stage of upEyam - The final goal- the thinking of EmpeurmAn as means should be forgotten and EmpeurmAn as the end should always sustain. (note: This is analagoous to Sri ANDAL mentioning -maTRai nam kAmangaL mATRu in the 29th pAsuram of TiruppAvai) (to be conintued) dasan vanamamalai padmanabhan
